Elden Ring won a Nebula Award, the third for George R.R. Martin

Elder ring keeps winning awards. More than a year after the game’s release, it has attracted attention Nebula Prize 2023 for best writing in a video game. The award follows news that the game also sold more than 20 million copies in its first year, which is a hugely impressive number and makes it the biggest game ever for developer FromSoftware.

Elder ring‘s Nebula Award goes to Hidetaka Miyazaki and George RR Martin, who contributed to the game’s writing and overall story. This is the first Nebula Award for Miyazaki and FromSoftware, and the third for Martin – though he has 14 nominations throughout his career between his novels, short stories and novellas.

The Nebula Awards is a science fiction and fantasy award presented each year. The awards generally focus on literary works, including categories for novels, short stories, novellas, but there is also a category for Dramatic Presentation, which this year went to Everything Everywhere Everything at once.

Elder ring was originally released on February 25, 2022 and will be getting a DLC expansion called Shadow of the Erdboom, but it doesn’t have a release date yet. Meanwhile, the next official project will be from FromSoftware Armored Core 6: Burning Rubiconwhich will be released on August 25.
