A father and son stumble upon a dead body in an abandoned Antebellum home in Mississippi while on a treasure hunt.
The eerie discovery came on Saturday, February 24, when the father and son duo were exploring the empty house in Holly Springs.
Holly Springs Police Chief Darryl Bowens said the homeowner allowed the father and son to go on a treasure hunt on the property.
What they found was far more shocking and disturbing than a treasure chest.
The dead man’s body was found in the living room of the home on East Van Dorn Avenue.

According to police, the deceased body was found lying near a window WLBT3.
“This house has been abandoned for a long time,” the father said. “At least twenty years or so.”
In the video, the father pointed to the window door at the top of a leaf-covered outdoor staircase and explained, “This window here is broken out, you can see it.”
“The curtain is pulled back a little bit and the screen is torn down,” he described, adding that he found the condition of the window “weird.”
He said he saw what appeared to be “someone dead” on the floor next to the damaged window.
