Education official hired by Biden says democracy is based on ‘white supremacy’ in unearthed tweets

A deputy director of the US Department of Education appointed under Biden said on Twitter that democracy is based on “white supremacy” and revealed that she is “tuning white people’s voices” in a series of unearthed tweets.
Kristina Ishmael is the deputy director of the Office of Educational Technology – and her office implements policies for “equality of access” to technology.
But despite her job, Ishmael said in tweets, seen by fox news, that she once walked away from an argument because “a white man dominated the conversation.”
She made her profile private on Monday after her tweets – which also showed bias towards evangelical Christians – were discovered by the news website.

Ishmael responded to a tweet claiming that the evangelical church is connected to white supremacy
‘[Democracy is] also built on white supremacy, which I see perpetuated in education circles when BIPOC folx are told they are being too negative by addressing real issues instead of superlatives,” she said in tweets seen by Fox.
Ishmael also responded “amen” to a tweet saying the evangelical church welcomed “hate” and “white supremacy” into its institution. It is estimated that about 30 to 35 percent of the American population are evangelical Christians.
In a tweet, Ismael also cast doubt on whether white gay men deserved to be considered a marginalized category in school curricula, according to Fox.
She also said that the school curriculum was largely written from a white perspective.
‘[M]most of my curriculum is written from a very narrow and white perspective,” she said.
She reiterated her point about school curriculum bias by stating, “How many times have you as a teacher been asked to uphold white supremacy through dominant cultural norms.”
Ismael suggested in her tweets, which are now hidden, that she doesn’t listen to white voices
Ishmael also questioned whether white gay men deserved to be considered a marginalized category in school curricula
Ishmael also tried to suggest that fat phobia was an attitude rooted in white supremacy.
She said, “Learning to be comfortable in my own skin and weight and really ready to reject the ideal white supremacist body? F**k yes.’
“Fat phobia is real. The ‘ideal’ weight, shape and appearance is white supremacy ingrained in our everyday lives. I’m so over it. We deserve more than diets,” she added.
DailyMail.com has contacted Ishmael for comment.
On Twitter, Ishmael also stated that she was a fan of Ibram X. Kendi, the founder and director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research.
She said: ‘[Shoutout] until [Dr. Kendi] while this group of educators talk about culturally responsive pedagogy and specific references to segregationists, assimilationists and anti-racists. I have learned SO much from Dr. Kendi about this and how it applies to our field.’
Kendi wrote a column on “Living with the White Race” in 2003.
In it he said: ‘Europeans are just a different kind of people… They have been socialized to be aggressive people… They have been raised to be racist.’
In that column, Kendi also suggested that white people are concerned about their own “extinction.”
He accused them of trying to “level the playing field with the AIDS virus and cloning, but they know these deterrents will only get them so far.”
“This is where murder, psychological brainwashing and deceit come into play,” he said.

One book is called ‘What Is White Privilege’, the other is ‘What Does it Mean To Defund the Police?’
