EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Secret wedding for Jonathan Aitken’s love child Petra Khashoggi and Daniel Barker

>

She’s the willowy beauty who grew up in the super-yacht world of flamboyant billionaire arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi, whom she believed to be her father.

But, aged 18, Petra Khashoggi discovered she was the daughter of Jonathan Aitken, the ex-Cabinet minister who fell from grace yet found redemption as a prison chaplain.

Now I can reveal that she has married a man whom her father has not met.

Married: Petra Khashoggi with Danny Baker Jr — son of New York’s most acclaimed plastic surgeon Daniel Baker - who she married last Thursday in the Hamptons.

Her husband is man-about-Manhattan Danny Baker Jr, 44 — son of New York’s most acclaimed plastic surgeon Daniel Baker.

They married in secret last Thursday in the Hamptons. Not only was Aitken absent, but Petra’s mother, Soraya Khashoggi, and her half-siblings Victoria, Alexandra and William were also not invited.

‘It was just the couple, with Danny’s sister Lily as a witness,’ a friend tells me.

After the wedding, they went to Shelter Island, staying at Sunset Beach Hotel, owned by André Balazs. But the couple are already back in New York.

‘It was a heavenly ‘mini moon’,’ Petra, 42, tells me, before adding: ‘We’d met as teenagers at a friend’s house in New York. A magical connection, even back then. But we were both in other relationships. We would run into each other, here and there but the timing was off.’ At the end of lockdown, film producer Baker suggested dinner. ‘We were old friends re-connecting,’ says Petra. Yet within months they were engaged and contemplating a ‘full-scale’ wedding. But that had challenges, not least because Petra, who used to be known as Petrina, has 17 siblings. ‘They’re all over the place, so we chose a date and arranged a quiet ceremony,’ she says.

Aitken (left, with Petra) fully approves. ‘I’m overjoyed,’ he tells me. ‘I’ve yet to meet Danny but I’ve spoken to him by phone. I think they’re going to have a great marriage.’

And there will, Petra assures her scattered siblings, be a proper party in due course.

Pedalling India puts her feet up

Princess Diana’s bridesmaid India Hicks deserves to put her feet up as she’s been training for a gruelling charity bike ride.

India, 54, who lives in the Bahamas with her husband David Flint Wood and five children, displayed her long, slender legs in this photo shared with friends.

‘Legs up after a long ride,’ says the granddaughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

‘I will be gently pedalling towards 49 miles on September 26 and not beating myself up to reach 100.’

C4 books ‘foul’ Frankie Boyle to make royal film

Guess who Channel 4 has lined up to make a documentary about the Royal Family?

The answer is Frankie Boyle, the comedian whose offensive ‘joke’ about the Queen was once described by a Conservative MP as ‘disgracefully foul’.

The public service network says in the programme, Frankie Boyle: Monarchy, he ‘turns his wry eye to the state of the British monarchy and its future’.

It adds: ‘He wonders, ‘Will the monarchy soon be put out of its misery as it slips gently away under the soft pillow of our collective apathy? Do the Royal Family have any place in the modern world?’

The BBC was once forced to cut a line from its Comic Relief coverage in 2013 after the Scot, commenting on the Queen having been admitted to hospital, said: ‘I wished she’d died.’

Bring on Channel 4’s privatisation, I say!

Lord’s play is stumped but not out

Producers of a theatrical event at Lord’s Cricket Ground have been bowled a googly.

The show, Stumped, about playwrights Samuel Beckett and Harold Pinter discussing cricket, is due to take place next month and star Stephen Tompkinson as Beckett.

However, the DCI Banks actor is required to attend Newcastle Crown Court just three days earlier, to face an assault charge.

He pleaded not guilty at a hearing at Newcastle magistrates court earlier this month.

A show spokesman insists: ‘The production will proceed as planned on September 10.’

Glossy posse girls mourn Earl of Home

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s friends Lady Iona and Lady Mary Douglas-Home are mourning their father, the Earl of Home, who has died aged 78.

David was son of former Tory prime minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home.

He was chairman of the Queen’s bank, Coutts & Co, until 2013.

Lady Mary (far left) and Lady Iona (near left) were members of the ‘glossy posse’ surrounding Prince William and Catherine and were guests at their wedding.

  • TV chef Gino D’Acampo was left with egg on his face after one encounter with a fan. ‘I was filming a show in Scotland with Gordon [Ramsay] and Fred [Sirieix],’ says the presenter, 46. ‘This woman came up and asked for a picture. I asked her when her baby was due and she said, ‘I’m not pregnant. I’ve just had a couple of very bad years and I’ve put a lot of weight on.’ She walked off — and Gordon and Fred started laughing at me. I wanted to die.’
  • Fans of Hammer Horror star Peter Cushing have been left spitting blood because his former home has fallen into rack and ruin. The seafront house in Whitstable, Kent, bears a blue plaque dedicated to the memory of the actor, who lived there for 25 years before his death in 1994. Neighbours and visitors have been left ‘disturbed’ by its increasingly dilapidated state, with out-of-control plants obscuring much of the house. It’s understood its owners live away from the property and are currently unable to carry out any renovations.
