EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Sarah Ferguson is in the pink with traditional German wedding frock

When Seamus Makim, aged five, stood as a page boy next to Prince William at the wedding of his aunt, Sarah Ferguson, he wore a crisp, white sailor suit.

At his own wedding on Saturday, Sarah, Duchess of York and his mother Jane opted for even more striking outfits.

The sisters wore traditional German clothing for the wedding in Germany, where Seamus – whose father is Jane’s first husband, Alex Makim – has lived for some time. The filmmaker exchanged vows with his fiancée, Sibylle.

Jane describes it as a ‘perfect day’.

After the engagement was announced last autumn, Fergie said: ‘I am so incredibly happy for my sweet Seamus. He is a man of so much goodness and caring, especially in his devotion to nature. His work as a filmmaker in the oceans is beyond amazing.”

Of his bride, she added: ‘I am truly so impressed with sweet Sybille, and I know they will be the happiest couple ever, devoted to each other and to Seamus’ two boys.’

Will Emma’s Today debut be a drama?

Does Emma Barnett know the people around her as well as she thinks?’ asks a new Channel 5 series. ‘Who is hiding behind facades, who is manipulating events and who is exactly who they appear to be?’

But this Emma Barnett should not be confused with BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour presenter, who is joining the infamous Today program presenting team this week, the producers insist.

Channel 5’s Barnett, played by Jill Halfpenny, is the main character in the drama The Feud. But surely Emma’s radio debut will go off without a hitch?

Emily is a real (Euro) vision

She is known for her firsts, but Emily Maitlis would not be left behind in terms of fashion at the Eurovision Song Contest either.

The former Newsnight presenter, 53, wore a Spanish-style flamenco dress with a friend at a Eurovision party on Saturday.

The unsavory performance in Britain saw Olly Alexander writhing with dancers in a washroom.

But Emily – whose interview with Prince Andrew is portrayed in the Netflix hit Scoop – seemed determined to take home a dose of colorful fun.

That certainly earned more than zero points!

If you fancy an afternoon tea fit for a king, you couldn’t do better than a visit to Sandringham.

King Charles is offering ‘exclusive access tours’ to his Norfolk retreat.

Visitors can take a look at ‘all eight downstairs rooms used by the royal family’.

And with tickets priced at £85, they get afternoon tea included – plus the chance to sample gin or apple juice in the ballroom – and a guided tour, ‘bringing the history of the estate to life’.

Sandringham is set in 20,000 acres, with 60 acres of gardens. It is where the royal family spends Christmas and where George VI died in 1952.

Parts of Balmoral are also now open, although afternoon tea is £150 more expensive.

Russell Brand’s remarkable religious conversion could ultimately lead to Rome.

That’s the hope of Bear Grylls’ sister, Lara, who, like the obscene comedian Brand, was also persuaded by Grylls to become a Christian.

Russell Brand’s (pictured) remarkable religious conversion could ultimately lead to Rome, says Richard Eden

“Hopefully, over time, Bear and Russell will come to realize that the structure of the Catholic Church is so powerful and liberating,” she tells me.

TV adventurer Grylls was at Brand’s side at his baptism in the Thames.

It’s not just rock stars who attract young fans: TV chef Rick Stein, 77, dines with his own stories.

“There’s a few people hanging around the stage door,” he says of a recent live tour.

‘There were a lot of twenty-somethings in the audience. I think I look like their kind uncle.”
