EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Princess Diana’s old gym is hit by barrage of complaints

With past members, including Princess Diana, an entry fee of over £2,000, plus a monthly payment of around £200, the Chelsea Harbor Club is considered one of the most prestigious fitness facilities in the country.

However, word reaches me that standards have reportedly dropped at the state-of-the-art venue which also featured the current Prince and Princess of Wales as members.

One particularly irate gym goer who, along with her husband, has been a member for over a decade, says: ‘The spa area is dirty and most of the facilities are broken. There is never any soap or shampoo in the changing rooms and we have been advised to “bring our own”.

“It’s also virtually impossible to book tennis courts, which hardly helps because four of them have been out of service in the last six months.

The place is very run down and the showers are covered in limescale. The fire escape is closed because the ceiling beyond the door has collapsed.

“Before going on to describe the filth that looked ‘disturbingly like rodent droppings,’ she adds: ‘There are mounds of dirty towels strewn all over the building as the cleaners are unable to use the lift which has been out of service for two weeks and counting.

‘Nobody cares to hear your complaints either. And if that wasn’t bad enough, we’ve just been informed that they plan to increase our monthly membership fee by 20 percent.

“From being one of the best gyms in London, it has now become a complete joke.” A spokesperson for the club tells me that “some areas are currently undergoing renovations” and that they are “making a number of investments and improvements… to ensure it remains one of London’s leading fitness and wellness clubs.” While they estimate that the membership price increase is due to ‘breakneck inflation in all areas of our business, including energy costs’, they have tried to keep the increase ‘as low as possible’.

Just Married No-nonsense host-turned-bestselling author Richard Osman knows he’s been talking too much about his books. “I promise after Christmas I’ll shut up a bit about the books,” says the 51-year-old, who married Doctor Who actress Ingrid Oliver earlier this month. And Terry won’t be talking about her oranges with her chocolate for a while.

A leap in fortune for Dua Lipa

Having dispensed with the services of her management company earlier this year, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa seems to have no reason to regret it.

For the accounts, it has just been recorded that the London-based Kosovar Albanian has added another £4 million to her fortune. Her company, Dua Lipa Limited, now has £21.6m in storage, up from £17.5m a year earlier.

Given that another of his companies has assets worth £11.6m, it suggests that his new manager is performing satisfactorily. Good thing: he is the father of the singer, Dukagjin Lipa.

Amanda is on her skimpies

Mega-rich beauty mogul Amanda Cronin told me that even she had to make sacrifices because of the cost-of-living crisis.

Apparently the poor sheep had to fly with his staff economy class, and he even altered his shopping lists at Waitrose because he noticed “everything has gone up”.

But surely the former model, 54, who received a multi-million dollar settlement in 2019 after her divorce from Monaco energy mogul Mark Daeche, can afford more clothes?

The star of Channel 4 documentary The Millionairess And Me attended a pre-opening party for Mayfair’s new restaurant, Caviar Kaspia, wearing a pantsuit and little more than her lingerie. She maybe she could ask her boyfriend Andrew Ridgley, pre-Wham!, to lend her a few shillings.

macca majesty

When AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson met Sir Paul McCartney, he was totally blown away. So much so that he even mistook Macca for actual royalty.

‘I didn’t know what to say. I mean, for the first time I was speechless,” says the 75-year-old singer from County Durham.

Paul spoke to me because he had heard me talking to someone. He said, ‘Hello, Geordie.’ And I said, ‘Hi Paul. Lord Paul. Your Honor. The Majesty of him…’

‘I did not know that [to call him]. I found myself as if she was breaking a friend’s teeth.

Fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper, whose equestrian-style label is beloved by the Princess of Wales, has received an early Christmas present: a baby. The 36-year-old wife of Superdry co-founder Julian Dunkerton, 57, announced her arrival by sharing this photo of them holding her newborn. “Our beautiful baby, Jamie Dunkerton, is here safe and sound,” jokes Jade, who has a two-year-old daughter, Saphaia, with her mogul husband. The couple counts Lady Kitty Spencer and Zara and Mike Tindall among their close friends.

Your £50 fruity drink from Sandringham

Struggling to find that last Christmas gift for the friend who has everything? Then head to Sandringham, the monarch’s 20,000-acre Norfolk estate.

“The team has harvested the largest crop to date of persimmon fruits, grown in the walled garden,” the estate announces, explaining that this productive part of the garden was previously built on the earnings of the famous racehorse, Persimmon, owned by Edward VII. .

The fruits, which include juniper, Chinese persimmon and myrtle berries, create “an infusion” for Sandringham Gin which is distilled there. Yours for a royal bottle at £50. Bottom up.

Even though it’s been five years since her death, Wilnelia, Lady Forsyth Johnson still isn’t ready to see her late husband Sir Bruce on the big screen. “We’ve had some proposals from film producers to make a biopic about Bruce’s life, but I’ve turned them down because I don’t think it’s the right time,” said the 65-year-old former Puerto Rican Miss World, who inherited almost all of the £11.5m fortune of the Strictly star, he tells me. “Maybe in the future we will, since Bruce lived such an amazing life.” Maybe the production companies need to bid a little, as Brucie would say, higher.
