Now that Princess Charlene is rumored to live in Switzerland, Prince Albert of Monaco seems eager to stay close to the rest of his family.
The 65-year-old monarch celebrated his son Alexandre’s twentieth birthday this week and is pictured between him and his mother Nicole Coste. Albert’s daughter with Tamara Rotolo, Jazmin, was also there.
Charlene, mother of Albert’s two legitimate children, understandably skipped the event. But maybe she wasn’t invited?

The birthday party comes as Princess Charlene of Monaco and Prince Albert put on a united front as they relax on a yacht in Corsica amid the rumors of the state of their marriage.
The speculation started when reports in the European media claimed that Charlene, 45, lived in Switzerland and was only seeing her husband Albert, 65, ‘by appointment’.
The princess subsequently deleted her Instagram account, prompting further questions.
But pictures of them yesterday showed the couple relaxing together in the Mediterranean.
In one shot Albert puts his arm lovingly around Charlene, while in the other shot they sit next to each other on the beach.

The smart set talks about… Scarlett’s pop art hit
As Lucian Freud’s great-niece, writer Scarlett Curtis—daughter of Four Weddings And A Funeral filmmaker Richard Curtis and announcer Emma Freud—probably always had artistic genes.
And her talents have struck a chord with Ed Sheeran.
Because I can reveal that Sheeran, 32, has chosen Scarlett, 28, to design the cover for his new album Autumn Variations, due out at the end of September. “About a year ago, one of my favorite people on this planet asked me to draw him an album cover,” says Scarlett.
“I didn’t really think it would ever happen, but then it did and I spent all day sobbing at the announcement of Autumn Variations.”
She adds, “It’s my favorite of his albums or any album for that matter, and just being a small part of this magical thing has meant more to me than anyone will ever understand.”

Dara has a (disco) ball in Venice
The Venice Film Festival kicks off next week, but US-born architect and TV presenter Dara Huang is already bringing a touch of glamor to the Italian city’s canals.
Dara, 40, mother of Princess Beatrice’s stepson Christopher – better known as Wolfie – shared a photo of herself posing on a boat in a gold, strapless split dress with mirror discs.
“I dubbed like a disco ball in case they wanted to hit the dance floor,” says Huang, who attended the birthday party of German-American art historian Olivier Berggruen.
Dara was engaged to Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a real estate developer. Their son Wolfie, seven, was best man at Bea’s wedding

Conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner has decided not to perform at the Proms after slapping one of his singers.
But don’t assume tempers will be kept in check in the Albert Hall – especially when it comes to Gardiner’s fellow maestro Sir Simon Rattle.
Rattle will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra for the last time this Sunday – a farewell that comes not a moment too soon, said one LSO member, furious at the way Rattle gazes admiringly at his wife Magdalena Kozena, waving his baton.
“He does it all the time when she sings with us,” my mole tells me. Luckily we don’t need it. Why should we miss him? We know what we’re doing.’
Let’s hope the disharmony doesn’t last too long.
Mod Havers and his wife are going out
Wearing a suit and crash helmet, Nigel Havers certainly took the driver duties seriously earlier this week.
He and his wife Georgiana Bronfman were seen whizzing away on his moped after raiding Oswald’s, one of Robin Birley’s Mayfair clubs.
Actor Havers, 71, has been linked to his role in the 1980s drama The Charmer. But he waived the niceness of running against Sadiq Khan this week, calling him “the worst mayor of London we’ve ever had,” responsible for “increased emissions from closing roads, narrowing streets and creating huge traffic jams’.
Good to see that even Khan can’t stop Nigel on his scooter

Usually socialites prefer to keep their clandestine affairs hidden, but times have changed.
I was surprised at a recent party when a well-known fashion star bragged that he was caught up in a love triangle. After dumping her boyfriend, she now parades around town with her new inamorato.
My lips are sealed, but I hope her ex-lover won’t look back angrily when he finds out.
Weller’s girl raises a glass to new love
For months, Paul Weller’s daughter Dylan was bombarded with requests from ITV producers to go to Love Island, but she refused.
The model, 26, is glad she did as I can reveal she’s found love off screen.
“I have a boyfriend,” she tells me during a tasting of Wright Brothers and Lanson Champagne at the Bluebird in Chelsea.
Dylan’s new man is musician Henny Seear. “He and my father get along very well,” she says.
Well, this sounds like music to my ears.

Madonna had to reschedule her Celebration tour after a bacterial infection in June meant a hospital stay.
I wonder if Madge was an easy patient to treat — as famed Reverend Rev. Richard Coles confesses that the 65-year-old singer once gave his late husband the silent treatment.
“David was working the ER at Cedars-Sinai in LA and Madonna was brought in one day,” he tells The Rabbit Hole Detectives podcast.
“She brought in her PA and he wasn’t allowed to ask her a direct question… ‘How are you feeling?’ The PA would say, “How are you feeling?” And she said, “Not so great”. Then the PA would say: ‘Not so great’.’

(Very) modern manners
Charity starts at home – especially, Countess Bathurst hopes, if you live within 15 miles of the route she cycles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, to raise money for the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals.
“We really need help with housing,” says Sara, trying to make sure all the money goes to NFRSA. I’m told she’ll be joined by Fergie.
Is a double bed enough for the Duchess and Countess?
