More details have emerged after a terrifying crash on the set of Eddie Murphy’s new film The Pickup on Saturday, which left eight people hospitalized after a stunt went terribly wrong.
Filming on the production, which also stars Keke Palmer, has been halted following the crash in which an armored vehicle collided with a car driving next to it during filming in Atlanta, Georgia.
The two vehicles then left the road and both rolled over, flipping several times – seen in harrowing footage of the crash obtained by TMZ.
First responders took eight people to hospitals after the crash, the Georgia State Patrol confirmed People.
Two crew members sitting in the back of the armored car were thrown when the car’s rear doors opened, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

A third rear passenger also suffered serious injuries, although they were not ejected from the vehicle, according to GSP.
Five people were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment and another three were taken to WellStar Cobb Medical Center in Austell, Georgia, for treatment.
According to NYT, one is still in the hospital with a back injury.
The accident occurred during a “second unit action sequence” that had been rehearsed earlier, an Amazon spokesperson said.
“Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several crew members were injured,” the spokesperson said.
“We are still gathering facts about what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering.”
“The well-being of the entire crew and cast is our number one priority, and we will continue to adhere to the highest industry standards for safety throughout filming. All safety measures have been assessed and checked prior to the shoot.’

On Tuesday, The Associated Press reported that the incident was a car accident that occurred when a truck “locked up” and struck another vehicle.
“It was a completely freak accident,” an anonymous source told the AP, adding that the stunt performed was not considered particularly dangerous.
The source claimed that two crew members were hospitalized due to the accident, and one remained hospitalized on Tuesday.
The injuries “ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones.”
‘The crew union IATSE also released a statement saying: ‘IATSE is aware of an accident that occurred on the Georgia set of The Pickup and has initiated an investigation.’
However, the plot of the film is being kept secret Deadline reports that the film will be a heist comedy.
The film also stars Eva Longoria and Pete Davidson.
Last month, the duo was seen on set in Atlanta and appeared to have some standouts. The actress, 49, had a bruise on her face, courtesy of the makeup department.

Her dark hair was styled in a messy ponytail and she looked like she was dressed in an athleisure outfit under her big black coat. Accessories include a pair of large silver earrings.
It looked like the Flamin’ Hot director was talking on the phone while enjoying a break on set.
Pete Davidson, 30, also received a call during his break.
The prankster was dressed in oversized black overalls. His dark hair was brushed forward and he had a scruffy beard. The final touches to his makeup included a black eye.
The film, which currently has no release date, will be directed by Barbershop and Taxi director Tim Story.
