Eddie Murphy stars as a skeptical father who questions his daughter’s unimpressive fiancé in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix comedy You People.
The 61-year-old comedy legend appeared alongside Jonah Hill, who recently announced that he will no longer be promoting his films, as he asked about his plans to marry his daughter (Lauren London).
Nia Long, 52, also has prime position in the teaser as Eddie’s equally suspicious wife.

Uncomfortable! Jonah Hill, 38, plays the bumbling suitor who invites Eddie and his wife (played by Nia Long, 52) to lunch at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles.
Instead of presenting an overview of the film, the first trailer for You People simply featured an excerpt from the awkward first meeting between the 38-year-old Murphy and the Hill.
Jonah, who plays Ezra Cohen, is excited when he meets his fiancée’s father for the first time at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles, which he has chosen as the venue.
‘Nice to meet you guys! What’s going on? Talk to me about life. As they are? How is your job going? he says to her in a manic outburst as Eddie and Nia look at him.

The film, which Jonah co-wrote with the director, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, will premiere directly on Netflix on January 27.
Jonah and Eddie’s families “find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences,” according to the official synopsis.
The film also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny as Jonah’s progressive Jewish parents.
You People also features guest appearances from Rhea Perlman, Bryan Greenberg, Andrea Savage, and La La Anthony, among others.
