Eddie Murphy, 63, calls Paige Butcher, 44, his ‘WIFE’ twice in new interview… after getting engaged 6 years ago but never announcing a wedding
Are Eddie Murphy and his fiancée Paige Butcher married?
The Shrek franchise actor, who revealed his character Donkey is getting his own spinoff, used the word “woman” twice during an appearance on The New York Times podcast The interview.
The 63-year-old icon was promoting his new film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which comes out on July 3.
The couple started dating in 2012 and got engaged in 2018.
The Candy Cane Lane star and the 44-year-old model have two children: Izzy, eight, and Max, five.

At one point during the conversation with host David Marchese, the Beverly Hills Cop star revealed that Oscar winner Marlon Brando wanted to meet him early in his career, when he was about 20.
The former Saturday Night Live star then revealed that he was “out of touch” with today’s rising stars.
“I used to be so hip, I knew everyone, and now there’s just so much stuff,” Murphy said.
‘[I] “I asked my wife, ‘Who is this person?’” Murphy explained, adding, “I don’t even know what’s going on.”
During the red carpet presentation, it became clear that their life together is similar to that of many other families.
“I’m not ashamed of it,” he said, “every night at six o’clock, when I eat, I watch Steve Harvey and Family Feud.
‘On Tuesdays I watch The Masked Singer.’
Then he said the ‘w-word’ again.
“My wife and I watch all these shows, the singing competitions and stuff. Last year I watched the entire series of The Golden Bachelor,” he said.
The couple are careful about their privacy and do not have a social media presence. ‘I like to keep as much private as possible now. People will use anything against you. The more you put out there, the more you get back,’ Butcher said. Vanity Fair in 2013.
Although she’s had Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts in the past, the Big Momma’s House 2 actress said, “I just didn’t use it. And I was really boring. I just posted my volunteer work.”

After more than a decade together, Murphy appears committed to his life with Butcher, regardless of their marital status.
In a 2020 interview with Vanity Fairthe funnyman was very serious when he said, “My career, or what I am as an artist, that’s not the center of my life. The center of my life is my family and my children.”
Butcher is also stepmother to Murphy’s eight older children. He shares Bria, 34, Myles, 31, Shayne, 29, Zola, 24, and Bella, 21, with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell.
He is also the father of Eric, 34, from his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely; Christian, 33, from his relationship with Tamara Hood, and Angel, 17, with whom he is in a relationship with his former Spice Girl Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown, 49.
