- Eddie Hearn says a huge amount of money is being offered for Fury vs Joshua
- Fury and AJ were involved in negotiations for a Battle of British fight last year
- The Gypsy King says he has no interest in fighting Joshua now or in the future
Eddie Hearn doesn’t understand why Tyson Fury is ruling out a future fight with Anthony Joshua and joked that he’s watching the Gypsy King’s new Netflix show to understand the 35-year-old a little better.
Fury and Joshua were involved in talks over a Battle of Britain fight last year, but talks broke down after the Gypsy King became impatient while waiting for the contract to be signed.
Negotiations for the highly anticipated fight had been going on for months before both sides declared that the fight – scheduled for December 3, 2022 – was officially no longer possible.
The Gypsy King said he was furious with AJ for ‘wasting his time’ and stated that was why he would never fight the 33-year-old again in the future. Fury confirmed his stance last week during an exclusive interview with Mail Sport.
Fury said: ‘I’m not looking forward to fighting him (Joshua) anymore. It’s not even a fight I want. For me, that bubble has burst. His virginity was taken from him, so it’s no longer interesting to me.

However, Fury says he has no interest in fighting AJ as he was ‘beaten’ by Oleksandr Usyk
“He was punched twice by Usyk and punched by a fat man. So it’s not in my interest to beat him. He should go to the back of the line. That fight is over, it’s dead. That fight was out of the question as soon as he was defeated.”
When asked for his thoughts on Fury’s comments, Hearn told Mail Sport: ‘Fury said he’s not interested in uncontested and thinks Usyk is rubbish.
‘He said he’s only interested in the big boys. But who are the big boys? If it’s not Usyk and AJ, who is it? These are two huge battles.
“It frustrates me because if Fury beats Usyk and AJ, he will go down as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. He will have defeated Klitchko, Wilder, AJ and Usyk.
“And it’s a huge amount of money for both fights. It’s not that the money is bad for those fights. I do not understand. I’ll never get it.’
Hearn ended by joking: “I’ve been watching Home with the Fury’s to try and understand him but I haven’t figured it out yet.”
