Ed Sheeran canceled his concert stop in Las Vegas on Saturday, just hours before he was due to take the stage, fearing the floor would collapse.
The Shape Of You hitmaker, 32, was due to perform for concertgoers during his North American trek at Allegiant Stadium, just below the Vegas Strip.
However, the Grammy winner wrote a statement saying, “I can’t believe I’m typing this, but we’ve encountered some challenges loading our Vegas show.”
He then explained, “It’s impossible to continue with the show. I’m very sorry. I know everyone has traveled for this and I wish I could change it.”
It has now been reported that it was a safety issue that caused the cancellation, after an issue with the flooring was noticed as Ed’s team brought their gear in for soundcheck.

According to The sunThe rubber tiles had come loose, causing two tall towers to sink about a foot overnight.
Despite attempts by engineers to strengthen the towers, they were still shifting, forcing the show to be canceled.
A source told the publication: “Health and safety are of paramount importance at performances of any size and scale – but even more so in a 65,000-seat NFL stadium.
‘The problem was with the floor rather than the stage itself, but Ed and his team fought for 24 hours to save the show.
“He was obviously upset that they couldn’t make it happen, but it was completely out of his control and it was the right decision to protect his fans.”
Ed revealed that Saturday’s show would be postponed to next month, writing: ‘The gig is being postponed to Saturday 28th October and all tickets purchased are valid for that date. I’m so sorry x.”
Allegiant Stadium had hinted at unclear issues earlier in the day, taking to Twitter to inform concertgoers that the show would be “significantly postponed.”
However, in another recent update, the stadium tweeted‘Tonight’s Ed Sheeran concert has been moved to Saturday October 28th. Previously purchased tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date.’

Some fans were less than thrilled about the devastating last-minute news, with social media users jumping to the comments section to express their frustration on Instagram.
One wrote: ‘Absolutely insane. So disappointing. I waited in the heat for almost two hours,” while another typed: “Are you paying for my hotel? Why do you keep me here for two hours?’
Another added: ‘I’ve been out and paid for the flight and hotel and been in the air for an hour…I want all my money back, this is ridiculous.’ One simply wrote: ‘That’s Bulls**t.’
One fan said: ‘We’re out here?? No advice given?? What’s going on from Britain???’
Another explained: ‘People have been sitting outside for over an hour. EMTS transported people out. They haven’t given us any updates at all. People are crowding into the lobby, others are still waiting outside. They don’t even give out water.’
One fan stated that this was not a first, writing: ‘Honestly, I bought tickets to Ed Sheeran’s concert three times but only got one. The first time he broke his hand. Honestly. The second time we waited three hours in a thunderstorm in the outdoor stadium and Ed was chilling in the shelter behind the stage. So I don’t know about him.’
One fan came to Ed’s defense, writing, “This sounds like a frustrating situation, and I don’t envy being in Ed’s shoes or anyone who bought the shoes from a ticket. It also sounds like Ed had no control over it, and sometimes these things happen in life.”
“They are bad for everyone involved. This kind of stuff is just really, really bad. If you traveled to him… Hey, you made it to Vegas! That’s incredible! If you can’t connect a good memory of an Ed Sheeran concert to this trip, do your best to make a new positive memory.’

In a video and lengthy caption, the singer opened up about the album and the inspiration behind the songs.
“Last fall, I discovered that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of summer, everything calmed down, settled down, fell apart, came to a head or imploded,” he wrote to his fans.
Ed recalled that he was “going through a tough time” and explained that “writing songs helped.” He also revealed that he wrote songs from the “perspective” of his friends and “some of mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at the time.”
‘My father and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed ‘Enigma Variations’, each of the fourteen compositions being about a different one of his friends. This is what inspired me to make this album.”
‘When I recorded Subtract with Aaron Dessner, we clicked immediately. We have been writing and recording non-stop and this album was born from that collaboration,” the Perfect hitmaker added.
“I feel like he captured the feeling of autumn so beautifully in his sounds and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
Some of the songs that will appear on his seventh album are: Plastic Bag, Midnight, When Will I Be Alright and also Amazing.
