Ed Sheeran fans were left ‘speechless’ after the star sang in Punjabi for the first time at a concert in India during the final leg of his tour.

The Shape Of You hitmaker, 33, performed at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on Saturday evening, where he showed off his impressive language skills.

During the show, he invited Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, 40, on stage for a duet in front of the 50,000.

The crowd went wild when the duo gave a Punjabi rendition of Dosanjh’s hit Lover.

After the show, both stars took to social media with clips to reflect on the special experience on stage.

Ed wrote, “I have to release Diljit Dosanjh in Mumbai tonight and sing it in Punjabi for the first time. I had such a great time in India, more to come!’

Meanwhile, Dosanjh shared the video with the caption, “Brother sings for the first time in Panjabi.”

Fans went wild in the comments section when someone wrote: ‘This is just unreal… I’m speechless.’

This is not the first time that Dosanjh, 40, has collaborated with a western Punjabi star.

Last year he released a song called Hass Hass, on which he collaborated with Sia.

Fans praised the Indian star for making another big name sing in the Indian language.

It comes after Ed celebrated his 33rd birthday last month and took to his Instagram to celebrate the milestone.

The singer-songwriter shared two hilarious photos from his backstage dressing room, which was filled with gold balloons.

Alongside the photos, the Castle On The Hill hitmaker simply wrote: ‘Happy birthday to me’.

In one playful click, Ed donned a party hat and posed with a blank face while blowing a party horn in his mouth.

In the next shot, the Grammy winner wore sunglasses decorated with birthday cakes that read “Happy Birthday.”

He pulled down his black T-shirt to show it to the camera, revealing that it was decorated with photos of his bodyguard, Kevin Myers.
