Ed Sheeran made concert history on Friday when he performed before 110,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, breaking his own record in the process.
The massive crowd is the largest audience ever to appear at an event at the famed cricket ground and surpasses Sheeran’s previous record of 108,000, from the night before.
The 32-year-old English superstar had the crowd eating out of the palms of her hands as she invited them to sing along to her hit song The A Team.
Sheeran posted pictures of the amazing concert on Instagram and captioned it with some sweet words.
“I played the biggest show of my life on Thursday to 108,000 people in Melbourne, breaking that record on Friday with 110,000 people coming to the MCG,” he wrote.

Many of Sheeran’s 42.5 million followers were quick to congratulate him on the milestone.

It comes after Sheeran delivered a moving tribute to his late friend Shane Warne when he performed at the MCG on Thursday night.

The hitmaker told the crowd that it was an emotional experience to perform at the cricket stadium where his late friend Shane spent so much time.
Shane’s three children were in the crowd watching Sheeran and his 21-year-old daughter Summer share a video on Instagram of Ed’s moving words.
Speaking to the crowd, Ed said: “Being here tonight is hard without Shane, as this venue was really special to him.”
He then said that he would dedicate his next song “to Shane and his children.”
