Eco Tan by Sonya Driver: Organic hydration system transforms skin in 21 days

How one woman showed an acne-free, plump and radiant complexion in just three weeks without botox or harsh treatments: ‘This is a secret weapon’

  • Within three weeks it had plumped up and the acne was almost gone
  • The small Australian company started in 2009 on a kitchen bench

A young woman has revealed the skincare secret that dramatically reduced her acne and made her complexion plump and radiant in just 21 days.

Lizzy developed adult acne for the first time in her life and was introduced to the Australian skincare brand Eco Tan and the company’s Hydration Skin System by a friend who raved about it.

Within three weeks she was singing the same praise.

The popular brand, best known for its pioneering facial tanning water and “glory oil,” was developed in 2009 by flight attendant and mother Sonya Driver.

Driven to start a natural, organic skincare brand (that actually worked) after her sister’s melanoma diagnosis and subsequent scarring, she began researching the best ingredient combinations.

The result was an award-winning range with thousands of fans in both Australia and the rest of the world.

“I knew that solving my new skin problems would take time, but I quickly noticed an improvement,” Lizzy said of her skincare transformation.

She used six products for a total of $269.70; the hydration system is designed for healthy, youthful and radiant skin with an emphasis on tackling dryness.

“The Super Citrus Cleanser leaves my skin feeling so smooth and clean and the Acai Exfoliator scrub smells divine – I use this product a few times a week to clear my skin,” said Lizzy.

Skin Care Red Flags: Why You Need To Read The Labels

With such a saturated market, we should be aware of greenwashing, the phenomenon where brands advertise themselves without much transparency as ‘clean’ and more environmentally friendly than they actually are.

Synthetic Fragrance:

Maybe you know someone (or maybe it’s you) who is extremely sensitive to fragrances and perfumes. Many people are allergic and it doesn’t take much digging to figure out why. When ingredients labels only say “fragrance” or “perfume,” that’s often an umbrella term for a bunch of added chemicals that aren’t legally required to be disclosed. But many of these can have adverse effects on your hormones, skin, and respiratory system with prolonged exposure

oxybenzone:

Commonly used in sunscreen, it is extremely harmful to coral reefs and also has negative hormonal effects on human health. Look for an active ingredient of zinc oxide, a natural mineral-based UV blocker that’s reef-friendly and even better

Talk:

Often used as a smoothing agent in makeup, talc is a seemingly harmless ingredient. However, studies have shown that it can irritate the eyes and cause breathing problems and lung disease when inhaled.

When in doubt, choose organic! Organic ingredients do not contain any chemicals or synthetic substances such as pesticides. Our ingredients are certified organic by the Organic Food Chain Australia. This means absolutely NO synthetic or artificial ingredients, no chemicals, animal derivatives, amino acids, pesticides or herbicides.

This woman also resurrected her skin with the same routine

‘I was unsure about using an oil, but in the end I loved the Glory Oil. My skin does not feel greasy, just very hydrated. I also used this product on a new scar on my son’s face and it helped minimize it.

“The Serum of Plenty helps minimize some of those nice melasma spots I’ve developed post-pregnancy.” I use the Super Fruit Hydrator on the days when my skin felt extra dry.

Lizzy is one of thousands who have raved about the small company since its launch, with many noticing results within a week of trying the skincare.

‘Many years later, my love for organic products and cruelty-free products has never wavered. The mighty dollar is not my idol. I’m super proud to be part of the Australian organic industry,” says Sonya

How do the ingredients work to transform the skin so quickly?

Super Citrus Cleaner: Aloe, lemongrass and caviar lime deeply cleanse and help regenerate the skin for a smoother and more even complexion

Super Acai Exfoliator: Designed to intensively exfoliate while enriching the skin with the powerful antioxidant and brightening properties of Acai. It also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties of coconut and magnesium salts

Super Fruit Hydrator: Pure hyaluronic acid and wild harvest plum help to naturally fight aging. It will plump and nourish the skin

glory oil: The organic cold-pressed oil is a powerhouse of omegas and antioxidants. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ingredients that are perfect for soothing acne and irritated skin, as well as brightening scars and discoloration

Facial Compost Purple Power Mask: This is a purifying and powerful antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory treatment mask. It contains kaolin clay to absorb impurities and detoxify the skin, and avocado oil to soften and nourish

Serum of Abundance: This targets pigmentation and fine lines, reduces redness and brightens the skin by boosting collagen production

‘My research and development started from my small kitchen. I started buying samples of everything natural and organic. I bought my lab equipment off eBay and joined chemistry forums, trying to teach myself to be a chemist. It was much harder than I thought,” says Sonya.

“Looking back, even when I was a teenager, I was always interested in health food stores and organic foods. While my friends would go to Maccas, I would get a vegetarian jaffle.
