“In Berlin, Oldenburg, Kiel, Leipzig, Rostock, Nuremberg and Munich we colored Christmas trees orange,” the group wrote in another post about the holiday demonstration.

According to the announcements, the group deliberately chose the holidays for the protest.

“Amid the flashing lights, shiny jewelry and festive atmosphere, it's easy to forget: we're racing full speed towards catastrophe, and our governments are failing miserably to pull the emergency brakes in Dubai,” the group wrote in its next post. reference to the COP28 climate talks in Dubai.

Letzte Generation is known for its particularly disruptive protests, including protests that block public roads.

The group made headlines in September when such a demonstration turned violent.
