EastEnders has cast two new big acting names in a storyline set to hit screens in 2024.
Having recently cast acting juggernaut Resident Evil star Colin Salmon as the new landlord of the Queen Vic, the show has made room for a few more legends.
In 2024, George Knight (Colin Salmon) is reunited with his adoptive parents, who will be played by tough actors Elizabeth Counsell (Gloria) and Christopher Fairbank (Eddie).
The pair both have decades of experience in the vault, with Christopher and Elizabeth landing their debut roles in 1978 and 1962 respectively.
Christopher, 70, has had a star-studded career, appearing in blockbusters including The Little Mermaid and Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Elizabeth Counsell and Christopher Fairbank will star in EastEnders in 2024 as George Knight's (Colin Salmon) adoptive parents, Gloria and Eddie.
The veteran actor also appeared in several TV shows such as Vera, Wolf Hall, Doctor Who, Sherwood and Outlander, but he is best known for his role as Albert in the comedy series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
He also dabbled in voice acting, using his vocal chords for a variety of video games, including Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Age of Conan and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters.
Elizabeth, who will play Colin's adoptive mother, has also had a great career in her own right.
The 81-year-old star made her career as a household name when she appeared as Veronica in the BBC sitcom Brush Strokes.
The actress is also having to slow down a bit, having recently appeared in Call The Midwife, The Outlaws and Unforgotten, as well as the films Forever Young (2023) and The Invitation.
While the two have many impressive credits to their names, the acting titans are looking forward to hitting the screens as Gloria and Eddie Knight.
Elizabeth said Subway: 'I can honestly say it was an absolute pleasure. The cast and all the team behind the scenes at EastEnders are brilliant and are so welcoming.
“Colin and I have worked together before, and who would have thought that almost thirty years later I would be playing his mother!”

Christopher added how excited he was to be joining the cast of EastEnders.
He said: 'Everyone was so welcoming and it was fantastic to meet and work with the brilliant actors involved in the show.'
Elizabeth and Christopher have already started filming as Gloria and Eddie, who set foot in the square in hopes of reconnecting with George.
But the parents are not as innocent as they seem, hinting at the secrets hidden in George's past.
EastEnders bosses recently confirmed the seven potential victims of the highly anticipated Christmas Day murder – with just weeks to go.
The first tease for the whodunnit was revealed back in February, but the identities of both the corpse and the victim have yet to be shared.
In the shocking scenes, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) were seen standing over a mysterious corpse.
They all have connections to the women in the scene with numerous motives, adding even more tension to the whodunnit.
