EastEnders star Max Bowden makes a lucky escape unscathed from his smashed up Mercedes after suffering three-car collision in Surrey

Max Bowden luckily escaped from his wrecked Mercedes after being involved in a three-car collision in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, on Friday.

The EastEnders actor, 28, best known for his role as Ben Mitchell, managed to walk away from the scene unscathed and appeared shaken according to onlookers.

In photos obtained by The sunthe soap star emerged from the scene without any injuries, despite the vehicle's bumper being completely destroyed.

Passersby told the publication: 'It all happened very quickly. We just saw that this car was completely demolished and then my girlfriend said: “Is that Ben Mitchell?”.

'He seemed quite bewildered by the whole thing. He must have been quite upset.'

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “We were called to a collision involving three vehicles in Sunbury-on-Thames on Friday.

'The collision happened near the Sunbury Cross roundabout at around 1.10pm and involved a red Mazda, a black Mercedes and a gray Kia.

“There were no injuries or arrests as a result of the incident.”

It comes after Max's ex-girlfriend Shona McGarty recently opened up about her split from Max at the British Soap Awards.

The couple split after his ex Roisin Buckle gave birth to his first child, a boy, in September last year.

The BBC soap star said the former couple called it quits after six months of dating, but confirmed they are still friends.

She said The mirror: 'It's wonderful to be here tonight because Max's mother is here and I haven't seen her for a while, I love her.

'So it's wonderful to meet her. We're actually better than ever. It's a friendship, we're in such a good place.

Max and Shona's romance first came to light in May 2022 after sources claimed the pair were 'inseparable' following his split from girlfriend Roisin, and they made their relationship official on Instagram in August.

However, Shona has already moved on as she confirmed that she is currently 'speaking to someone', but she didn't reveal any details as 'it's still very early'.
