EastEnders star Danny Dyer enjoys a boozy night out with The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley

EastEnders star Danny Dyer appeared in high spirits as he enjoyed a night of booze with The In Betweeners’ James Buckley on Saturday.

The pair are old friends, with Danny appearing on James’ At Home With The Buckleys YouTube channel.

James, who played Jay in the Channel 4 sitcom, shared a snap of himself snuggling up with his friend Danny under a blanket, as they both looked worse with beer bottles in hand.

The guys dressed down, with Danny rocking a gray T-shirt and James wearing a white Fred Perry top for the night.

James shared the photo with his 273k Instagram followers and wrote: ‘How’s your weekend going?’

Danny previously appeared on James’ vlog, where he hinted that he would get James a job at EastEnders in 2021.

When asked about the possibility of working together, Danny replied: ‘Do you have a day? I’ll get you a month. You’re having a month, that’s all.’

Danny then revealed that the job would be six days a week, to which James quipped, “I didn’t become an actor to work for a living.”

James previously tolerated The subway: ‘Danny is one of the funniest people I know. I don’t think he knows how funny he is and he has time for everyone. It’s weird because I think people get confused between him and the characters he’s played.

‘The irony is that people say, ‘He’s a bad actor.’ He only plays himself. He thinks that he is such a tough guy. He doesn’t think he’s tough at all. That must be frustrating for him, but he’s brilliant. I love him to pieces.

It comes after it was revealed that Danny had secret feuds with EastEnders co-stars Jessie Wallace and Steve McFadden, according to reports.

The actor left the soap in a dramatic Christmas Day episode at the end of 2022, and it is now claimed that there were several actors he did not get along with during his nine-year stint on Albert Square.

In an appearance on Saturday’s Jonathan Ross Show, Danny admitted that he ‘doesn’t love’ all of his former colleagues and that there were some he ‘won’t miss’.

It is now thought that she could have been referring to Jessie, who plays Kat Slater on the show, and Steve, who plays her current love interest, Phil Mitchell.

According to The Looking Glass, Danny’s strong personality didn’t bode well with Jessie’s equally domineering nature, as the pair often crossed wires on set.

The publication reported that he was once heard declaring his ‘hate’ for the actress, getting himself into trouble.

A source alleged: “Danny and Jessie have very strong personalities and although they never let it get in the way of their work, they didn’t get along.”

Adding that there was “a lot of tension” behind the scenes, the source continued: “It will be clear to anyone who has worked with both that he had her in mind when he made his recent comments.”

Elsewhere, The Sun reported that he also clashed with Steve, a soap opera veteran who played Phil Mitchell for more than 30 years.

The source explained that the clash started as soon as Danny joined EastEnders in 2013, with Steve appearing on the soap since 1990.

Said to be an “open secret”, the pair reportedly rarely worked together on set.

“Steve hated that the bosses gave Mick (Danny) the Queen Vic, who spent so many years at the heart of the Mitchell family,” another source told The Sun.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Danny, Jessie and Steve. A spokesman for EastEnders declined to comment.

In 2017, a fight between Steve and Danny was first reported, with the latter allegedly threatening to punch the former during a heated argument on set.

The altercation was said to have created a tense environment for the rest of the cast. But denying the claims, a BBC spokesperson told MailOnline: “As previously stated, Danny is an extremely popular and respected cast member by everyone on the show.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Danny admitted that it wasn’t all sunshine and roses on the set of EastEnders during an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show this week.

The actor’s final scenes as Mick Carter aired on Christmas Day and saw the owner of the Queen Vic mysteriously lost at sea after diving under the water to save his ex-wife Linda.

He explained that he “misses” a lot of the stars he worked with on the show and that he “loves them very much.”

But when pressed by host Jonathan, the star sheepishly said that “not all” of the soap’s cast have such a precious place in his heart, but declined to give any names.

Jonathan asks Danny about his co-stars: “Who will you miss the least?”

Danny replies, “There are a few of them actually, I’m not going to lie.” I will not say [who], You know. I love most of them very much. Not all…’

As Jonathan presses: ‘So they know who they are?’ Danny says, ‘I would have thought so.’
