Next week, Sonia will be seen in high spirits as she prepares to celebrate her 38th birthday after Reiss planned a party for her.

She then tells Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she had felt so cared for in a long time.

However, it seems Reiss has other plans as he then tells Sonia that he will be celebrating King Charles’ coronation and not Sonia’s birthday.

Sonia gets fed up with Reiss when he fusses over his coronation party planning and when Rocky makes a romantic gesture for Kathy, he suggests that Sonia and Reiss get to know each other better.

Nurse Sonia then makes it clear she wants to celebrate her birthday, prompting Reiss to make more of an effort.

Reiss arrived in Walford last year ahead of Dot Branning’s funeral as her second cousin.

He and Sonia quickly bonded when Dot woke up playing trumpet and trombone together.

Sonia was then seen taking Reiss upstairs before Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) revealed that trumpeter Sonia and Reiss had slept together.

However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when Reiss ghosted Sonia for a month.

He eventually returned her calls and met with Sonia to help her with her inheritance tax issues, helping her find a loophole that would allow her to keep her home without losing any money.

Reiss then told Sonia that he hadn’t been in touch because he hadn’t had many girlfriends and he didn’t want to ruin anything between the couple.

They later celebrated Sonia keeping her house by playing trumpet and trombone together one more time before enjoying a glass of champagne that led to a kiss.
