EastEnders’ Lola Pearce reveals her dying wish is to be reunited with her estranged mother in upcoming scenes of the BBC soap opera.
The character, played by Danielle Harold, is currently dying of an inoperable brain tumor, and doctors insist there’s nothing more they can do for her.
Lola’s dream comes as Patsy Kensit prepares to make her EastEnders debut as her long-lost mother, Emma Harding.

With limited time, Lola sets out to make the most of her life and continues to plan her wedding to Jay Brown, following their romantic Christmas engagement last year.
She asks Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) to be her Bridesmaid, who happily agrees and begins planning an epic bridal shower for Lola with a huge guest list.
However, when Kim inadvertently hits a nerve by asking about Lola’s mother, it prompts her to start thinking about reconnecting with her father as he is dying.
Speaking to her fiancé Jay (Jamie Borthwick) later, Lola shares her wish to be reunited with her mother, however Jay is hesitant about the idea.

While Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) agrees with the funeral director, advising Lola to take things easy.
But with Lola’s daughter Lexi asking her questions she couldn’t answer about her grandmother, she’s more determined than ever to find her mother.
And while Lola’s grandfather, Billy Mitchell, wonders what to give her as a wedding gift, she comes up with the perfect gift…

It comes as Patsy Kensit prepares to debut as Lola’s mother in upcoming episodes.
Her character Emma had never appeared on the soap opera before, having abandoned Lola and her father when their daughter was only three years old.
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw said of the signing: “We are delighted to welcome the wonderfully talented Patsy to the EastEnders family. She’s a perfect fit to take on the role of a long-awaited character we know very little about.
“Soft-spoken and measured, for one, Emma is the complete opposite of her long-lost daughter Lola.

Hesitation: Talking to her fiancé Jay later, Lola shares her desire to reunite with her mother, however Jay is hesitant about the idea.
Determined: But with Lola’s daughter Lexi asking her questions she couldn’t answer about her grandmother, she’s more determined than ever to find her mother.
‘But on the other, there is a striking resemblance; successful, the ability to stand up for herself, if she says she’ll do something, she’ll do it, and she’s a fighter, just like Lola.’
Meanwhile, Danielle Harold recently opened up about Lola’s decision to reach out to her mom.
She told the press: ‘Lola thinks a lot about her decision, and after a conversation with Lexi, she decides that she wants to look for her mother.
Rookie: “She is perfectly suited to take on the role of a long-awaited character we know very little about. Soft-spoken and measured, for one thing, Emma is the complete opposite of her long-lost daughter Lola.
“I think it’s based on her own experience as a mother, and she also doesn’t want her daughter to be left with the same unanswered questions that she has.
‘After she decides what she wants to look for, she goes and asks Sharon for advice to see if there is a way to locate her. It’s all these little things that really push her to make that decision.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
