EastEnders fans were left squirming on Tuesday as Kat and Nish consummated their affair after bonding over cheating husbands.
Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace) and Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) have been the most unlikely duo in recent episodes.
Their husbands have both cheated – Kat’s husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had a one-time romp with the mother of his grandchild and Nish’s wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) had a long-standing lesbian affair.
Despite Nish’s abusive nature, Kat couldn’t resist his charms and the two finally gave in to their mutual lust on Tuesday’s episode.
Their arrangement comes despite the desperate attempts of Suki, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) to keep them apart.

Suki and Nish had been together for decades, including a long stint in prison on Nish’s part after he killed a man he thought Suki was having an affair with.
After his release from prison, he and Suki got back together, but he was controlling and emotionally abusive, pushing her into Eve’s arms.
Stacey, Kat’s cousin, revealed to Kat that Nish had hired a hitman to kill Eve, but Kat was sympathetic, knowing the pain of being cheated on.
After showing Kat a flat she wanted to rent from him, Nish and Kat enjoyed dinner before falling into each other’s arms.
Confused and disapproving fans took to Twitter in droves to express their discomfort over the budding relationship.
One wrote: ‘EastEnders writers love Kat and Nish wtf.’
‘THOSE KAT AND NISH DOF DEAF ERASED FROM MY MEMORY.’ Another traumatized fan declared.
‘That scene with Kat and Nish was a JUMPSCARE #EastEnders.’ Wrote another victim from the scene.
Although Kat and Nish enjoyed themselves, fans did not, taking to Twitter en masse to express their disapproval and unease.
They continued: ‘This Kat and Nish debacle…baffling and sickening #Eastenders.’
‘Kat and Nish? Ewww.’ One fan succinctly expressed the majority’s feelings.
‘Kat & Nish… SHUT THIS OFF NOW! #EastEnders @bbceastenders.’ asked another.
“I need the hotline number for the Nish and Kat scene.” Another shocked fan begged.
‘Nish and Kat sucking their faces is traumatic. What a strange combination to put together #EastEnders.”
A final fan wrote, “NISH AND KAT #eastenders,” accompanied by a GIF of Friends, with Phoebe yelling “My eyes!” shouted. and Rachel trying to comfort her.
However, fans will be looking forward to the fallout when Phil discovers the affair.
