EastEnders Coronation special: Sonia finally discovers Reiss’ HUGE secret
EastEnders aired its coronation special on Monday night and there was the usual drama that plagued the square amidst the festivities.
In the latest episode, the people of Walford gathered to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, just as those in the UK did this weekend.
But the episode ended with a bang when Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) discovered her boyfriend Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) big secret that he was hiding.
Viewers knew before Sonia that Reiss is married, though few details about the situation have been revealed.
It’s Sonia’s birthday on that day and Reiss pulled out all the stops when it came to treats, but he ended up being late to the celebrations.

While Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) was considering telling Sonia about a mysterious phone call he overheard, Reiss showed up, just in time for the coronation performance.
However, when Rocky later demanded the truth from Reiss, Sonia walked in and overheard everything and demanded that Reiss disappear from her life.
Reiss stammered as he tried to explain what had happened. He said, ‘I’m married, her name is Debbie. She’s a very special woman.”
Natalie then threw him out of the house calling him a “two-faced liar” while the rest of the square’s residents watched in shock during their street party.
Reiss arrived in Walford last year ahead of Dot Branning’s funeral as her second cousin.
He and Sonia quickly bonded when Dot woke up playing trumpet and trombone together.
Sonia was then seen taking Reiss upstairs before Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) revealed that trumpeter Sonia and Reiss had slept together.

However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when Reiss ghosted Sonia for a month.
He eventually returned her calls and met with Sonia to help her with her inheritance tax issues, helping her find a loophole that would allow her to keep her home without losing any money.
Reiss then told Sonia that he hadn’t been in touch because he hadn’t had many girlfriends and he didn’t want to ruin anything between the couple.
They later celebrated Sonia keeping her house by playing trumpet and trombone together one more time before enjoying a glass of champagne that led to a kiss.
Elsewhere in the special coronation episode as dawn breaks, Alfie Moon and Linda Carter (Shane Richie and Kellie Bright) prepared the Queen Vic for a coronation feast, while the rest of the community excitedly prepared for a day of celebrations.
Throughout the episode, the residents of Walford were treated to an appearance by Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison) as Dusty Springfield.
However, Kim remained upset when she failed to see Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) in the crowd, and with her already high stress level, she panicked.

Elsewhere, where Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) had only months to live, Honey and Billy Micthell (Emma Barton and Perry Fenwick) were determined to create special memories for her, but their efforts left them exhausted.
In other scenes, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) was shocked to learn that Keanu (Danny Walters) was engaged to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Though the party is in full swing at the Vic, Keanu was hesitant to celebrate there, fearing to enrage Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), after Keanu and Ravi Gulati’s (Aaron Thiara) confrontation last week.
Desperate for an end and eager to save her son, Karen turned to Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and begged her to get Nish to abandon his vendetta.
EastEnders airs on BBC1 at 7.30pm.
