Earthquake rocks Victoria with evening tremor rattling hundreds of residents

Thousands of Australians have been hit by another earthquake.

The magnitude three earthquake struck Victoria’s Gippsland region shortly before 8pm on Monday evening

The epicentre was at Sandy Point, near Wilsons Promontory, and was probably felt in Foster, Inverloch and Leongatha.

Geoscience Australia recorded 70 reports of the earthquake in less than an hour.

It comes three weeks after a 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook the country. Victoria’s Highlands on August 7.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at Sandy Point, near Wilson’s Promontory National Park (above)
