Eamonn Holmes takes another swipe at This Morning

Eamonn Holmes appears to have swung again at This Morning after slamming former presenter Phillip Scofield and his former co-star Holly Willoughby.

The 63-year-old broadcaster has expressed his resentment at the show and its presenters after also co-presenting the program with wife Ruth Langsford on Friday from 2006 to 2021.

And on Saturday, Eamonn couldn’t resist putting the knife in again, in what appeared to be an obvious dig on the ITV show.

While soliciting votes for his GB News show Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel ahead of an upcoming awards ceremony, he wrote on Instagram: ‘Let’s face it… It doesn’t get more real than us! Your support for Isabel and me is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.’

Eamonn co-hosts the morning slot with Isabel Webster, and their show is nominated for Best News Program 20203 at the National Reality TV Awards.

It comes after Eamonn launched another attack on Phillip this week, insisting he doesn’t believe the former ITV star’s claim that he has made ‘one mistake’ in his 40-year career.

In a bombshell interview last week, Phillip said he thought his career was over and that he had “lost everything” after admitting he lied about his relationship with a man who worked on This Morning.

On his GB News program on Monday, Phillip’s former colleague Eamonn called for “anyone watching today who has kissed Phillip Schofield, let us know.”

He added: “He said in his 40 years of broadcasting he’s made one mistake, he’s had one kiss he shouldn’t have.

“I say to anyone watching today if you kissed Phillip Schofield, let us know. Let’s see if that number of one grows into the number I think it probably is.”

Elsewhere in the show, Eamonn told GB News showbiz presenter Ellie Phillips: “We’re not supposed to criticize him in case he does something to himself, but he still thinks he can continue to lie, lie, lie say.

“He has admitted that he is a liar. You should see the emails, texts, and messages I’ve received in the past week. I think he’s very lucky.

“Like everyone else, he lied to me. I was happy to stand by him until I found out he lied… This isn’t about him being gay, not at all.”

Eamonn also criticized Jeremy Clarkson for defending Phillip over the weekend, saying “Clarkson didn’t work there, what does he know?”

In last week’s interviews, Phillip, who was dropped by ITV and his talent agency YMU after confessing to the Mail about the ‘ill-advised but not illegal relationship’, said he was ‘utterly heartbroken and ashamed’.

Schofield told the BBC the young man, who briefly worked as a runner on This Morning, was 20 when he first had any sexual contact with him.

He told The Sun they were friends and then in 2017 – three years before he came out as gay – “something happened that just changed it.”

The former presenter said there was “a consensual moment” in his dressing room after a show and “it was mutual.”

He added that he was not in a “love relationship” with the man and “it wasn’t a relationship, we weren’t boyfriends, we were buddies.”

He added, “I was really struggling with my sexuality at the time leading up to what happened.”

The pair had “five or six romantic encounters” over a period of about six months.
