Eamonn Holmes made a savage swipe on his previous show This Morning after missing out on the best daytime award at the National Television Awards on Tuesday.
The broadcaster, who has had a fraught relationship with ITV since his contract ended in 2021, was quick to joke about losing the show after being booed by the crowd at the ceremony.
Appearing on his GB News breakfast show Wednesday, Eamonn discussed The Repair’s Shops surprise victory in the Daytime category with co-host Isabel Webster and guests Charlie Rowley and Scarlett MccGwire.
He quipped, “Nothing won again this morning,” while Isabel went on to note the boos that swept through the Arena when the show’s nomination was announced.
Eamonn then joked, “Apparently the audience was just chanting, ‘Bring Eamonn back,’ and Scarlett replied, ‘Obviously they’re Eamonn.”

War: The broadcaster, who has had a fraught relationship with ITV since his contract ended, was quick to joke about losing the show (pictured with Holly, Phil and wife Ruth in 2013)
After discussing reports that Holly’s former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield had unfollowed her on TikTok, Eamonn joked, “I wonder why.”
“And I mean, apparently the people at This Morning were devastated because God forbid there could be a better show that actually won the award. I don’t watch either, but I hear The Repair Shop is awfully good.’
Then things took a funny turn when Eamonn held up a photo of Holly from the event, posing in her lilac dress.
“Here’s a pose, I thought, when someone says to me, ‘Can we have a picture, Eamonn’ and you’re on the red carpet.” You’re smiling or looking awkward or whatever it is…Holly Willoughby shows her ass,” he said, drawing laughter from his co-stars.
“So the pictures are all hers… so what she’s doing is, ‘Do you want a picture?’ and then she turns her butt to the camera.
She obviously has a very expensive Couture dress and a very neatly tailored fishtail, which emphasizes her curves, which she is very proud of. There you go.
Eamonn ended the segment on a lighter note, joking, “I’m going to do that in the future.”

Amazing threesome: Holly posed for photos with co-hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary
Eamonn has had a fraught relationship with ITV after he and wife Ruth Langsford were controversially removed from This Morning in November 2021 after 15 years of service.
They were replaced by Friday hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
The British news presenter has repeatedly criticized the perceived ‘abusive’ culture on This Morning – claiming he stands up to ‘bad people’ in the workplace and speaks the truth.
And Eamonn hasn’t held back over Phillip Schofield’s admission of an affair with a much younger colleague.
He told GB News at the time: ‘There’s a scene in A Few Good Men where Jack Nicholson yells ‘you can’t handle the truth’. Well, I know the truth and I know what the truth is.
“I know what I know and they (ITV) don’t seem to know much. People take sides in these cases, whether it’s the Boris case or the Phillip Schofield case. But people can’t handle the truth.’
Eamonn also reiterated his demand that ITV bosses make public the evidence for how their investigation into Schofield’s affair was conducted.
Holmes claimed that ITV was aware of Phillips’s ‘ill-advised, but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague, accusing the broadcaster of a ‘total cover-up’.
He also claimed that ‘the authorities had to know’ because the man was transported between Phillip’s £1 million home and the studios in taxis ‘paid for by ITV’.
He claimed: ‘Thursday was playtime when he and Phillip went to town and then of course he stayed overnight. Records show he was brought in separately the next day in cars paid for by ITV.”
The allegations were categorically denied by the ITV chiefs and described as ‘defamatory’, while ITV director Kevin Lygo issued his own explosive response accusing the GB News presenter of bitterness after being dropped from This Morning after 15 years on the sitting on a bench.
At The NTAs, Waiting This Morning to see if they had won the Best Daytime Award, the audience in the arena could be heard screaming and booing.
Host Jay Blades encouraged the crowd to cheer as the show’s team took the stage at The O2 and snapped a photo of the moment, commenting that it was a “rarity” for them to win the award.
Blades thanked the voters and the team behind the show, adding, “I want to salute my experts, they are my family.”
He also praised his fellow nominees at This Morning, The Chase and Loose Women, saying “We’re the new kids in the ad. I’m glad we won this time.
“I know it won’t be normal, so thank you.”
