“Why does it undermine her joy of life that I sleep?!” Eamonn Holmes laments wife Ruth Langsford’s ‘cruel’ habit of disturbing his sleep’
Eamonn Holmes has berated his wife Ruth Langsford for disrupting his naps.
The presenter, 63, expressed contempt at his partner’s habit of interrupting his precious sleeping time while talking to co-star Isabel Webster during their GB News hosting gig on Tuesday.
The duo discussed a new sleep study claiming that a 40-minute nap a day can help with brain growth.
And as the hosts discussed the subject, Eamonn couldn’t help but lament the Loose Women’s star’s disruptions, furious: “Why does it undermine her joy of life that I sleep?!”
Isabel, 40, first shared her own sleep experience, telling Eamonn: ‘If I set an alarm for at least an hour, which I usually do on days I work, then I know I haven’t overslept.

“I always feel like dying after a nap, it makes me feel worse, but I’ll get through the night.”
To which her co-star replied, “Yeah, I know what you mean. My wife is very good, my wife comes up to me and says, “Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?”
And you wake up and my answer is usually… I can’t even tell you my answer because we’re on the air.
“But I just think why is it sapping her zest for life that I’m sleeping ‘again’, as she always adds?”
“Are you sleeping again?” Well, I’m not sleeping, you yelled in my ear, didn’t you?’ he joked.
With a smiling Isabel responding, “Yes, it’s cruel to wake someone up from a lovely nap.”
Eamonn was not done with that, however, as he later continued to complain about Ruth’s habit.
He ranted, “We’re also going to talk to a sleep scientist who explains why a quick 40 winks can be really good for you.” If you often wink 40 times, your brain regularly does not shrink. “Are you sleeping?”

Uh oh: “My wife comes up to me and says, “Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?” And you wake up out of your skin and my answer is usually… I can’t even tell you my answer because we’re on the air’
Having his say: I just think why it undermines her zest for life that I sleep “again” as she always adds? “Are you sleeping again?” Well, I’m not sleeping, you yelled in my ear, didn’t you?’
Oh dear: as Isabel then teased, “I bet I have messages from Ruth when I check my phone, maybe she’s falling asleep”

Speaking of Ruth’s own sleeping habits, Eamonn continued, “She never sleeps. Well actually that’s a lie, she said last night she went to bed early and she said “I’m going to have trouble sleeping”.
‘She never has trouble sleeping, she sleeps like a baby, but during the day she never stops. I tell her to take a nap, but no, she would never do that.’
