Eamonn Holmes, 64, arrives back home with girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42, as couple touch down at Heathrow airport following romantic holiday together that left his estranged wife Ruth Langsford shocked
Eamonn Holmes arrived back in the UK with girlfriend Katie Alexander on Sunday after the pair spent the past week on a lavish holiday together.
The 64-year-old GB News presenter and the 42-year-old relationship therapist landed at Heathrow Airport after flying to Barcelona and taking a romantic cruise.
Eamonn’s ex-wife Ruth Langsford, 64, was reportedly shocked by the outing, which came just four months after the former golden couple announced they were divorcing after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn was in a self-propelled electric wheelchair due to his crippling back problems and looked tired from his outing.
The Northern Irish presenter has opened up about his new relationship and the pair are pictured spending two holidays together last summer.

Eamonn’s estranged wife Ruth Langsford, 64, was reportedly shocked by the holiday, as it came just four months after the former golden couple announced they were divorcing after 14 years of marriage.
‘Ruth is shocked by how open Eamonn is about their relationship, after all, they both still have their wedding rings on’
The couple left Heathrow Airport last Sunday morning and landed in Barcelona for a luxury holiday together.
However, a source told MailOnline that Ruth did not expect her ex-husband to be so open about his new romance.
The insider said: ‘Ruth is shocked by how open Eamonn is being about their relationship, after all they both still have their wedding rings on.’
They revealed the real reason why the estranged couple haven’t taken off their rings yet: “Neither of them wants to be the first to take off the ring because they don’t want to look like they’re to blame for the split.”
Eamonn, on the other hand, is ‘crazy’ about his new love.
Speaking about the presenter and Katie’s holiday plans, the source shared: ‘They both love cruises and they feel like they’re free to do whatever they want on board. They’re both in love with it.’
When contacted by MailOnline, Ruth’s representatives declined to comment and Eamonn’s representatives did not respond to requests for comment.
The holiday comes after Katie denied she was moving in with the announcer.
The couple were reported to be looking for a house together, just four months after their blossoming romance began.
However, Katie’s representatives have explicitly told MailOnline that this is not the case.
The rumors started after a source told The sun: ‘Katie has assured him that she is in it for the long haul and that they can both settle down just fine.’
“They spend so much time at his Kingston apartment that they are even considering moving in together permanently.”
It’s not the first time the couple have travelled this month, with Eamonn taking his girlfriend Katie to his hometown of Belfast as they claim they are ‘in it for the long haul’.
Eamonn is reportedly head over heels for Katie and their relationship has ‘taken it to the next level’, MailOnline previously revealed.
Friends say they now spend most weekends together at his Richmond apartment after his marriage to Ruth fell apart.
Eamonn and Katie are torn about when to go public with their relationship, after reportedly being offered ‘a lot of money’ for the official first photos of them together.
The source reported: ‘They received a tidy sum for the first photos of them together.’
They continued: ‘Katie and Eamonn are definitely in it for the long haul. She says she loves him and he loves her.’
The two’s friendship grew stronger when he moved out of the family home where he lived with Ruth, after his desperate wife discovered messages between him and another mysterious woman.
In May, Ruth and Eamonn were said to be in the process of divorcing after work-related commitments ‘took their marriage in different directions’.
A spokesman for the couple said: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage is over and that they are in divorce proceedings.’
Eamonn and Ruth, who married in 2010 after a 13-year relationship, are ‘determined to remain friends and maintain the friendship’.
