Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation and agreed to further deepen it.

Jaishankar, who is in the Australian city of Perth to attend the two-day Indian Ocean Conference, met President Wickremesinghe on Friday evening.

“Happy to call on Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Conference in Perth. He acknowledged the progress in our bilateral cooperation and decided to deepen it further,” Jaishankar said in a post on X.

President Wickremesinghe’s office also said the discussion between the two leaders focused on the progress of bilateral projects.

“Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar visited President Ranil Wickremesinghe in Perth last night. The discussion focused on the progress of bilateral projects being undertaken,” the Media Division of the President of Sri Lanka said in a message on X.
