Jalen Hurts rushed for two touchdowns and he and Slay led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 24-7 victory over the visiting Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.
Hurts completed 26 of 31 passes for 333 yards with an interception and added 57 yards on 11 carries. The Eagles (2-0) never trailed, limiting Minnesota to 264 yards of total offense.
Kirk Cousins threw for 221 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions for the Vikings (1-1). After nine passes for 184 yards and two scores in Week 1, Justin Jefferson was held to six grabs for 48 yards by Slay and the Eagles.

Philadelphia dealt the most damage in the first half, beating the Vikings 347 yards to 93 and building a 24-7 lead at the break. Minnesota went three-and-out on four of its five possessions in the half.
The Eagles marched 82 yards on 11 plays on the opening run of the game, with Hurts completing all of his five passes for 63 yards and scoring on a 3-yard run.
On the opening game of the second quarter, Hurts launched a 53-yard touchdown to a wide open Quez Watkins to put Eagles 14-0.

The Vikings made it 14-7 on Cousins’ 2-yard pass to Irv Smith Jr. with 9:39 remaining before halftime. Later in halftime, Smith dropped what could have been a 63-yard score.
Hurts rushed down the right sideline for a career-best, 26-yard touchdown run with 1:58 left in the half, powerful from a tackle on the goalline for a 21-7 advantage.
Jake Elliott added a 38-yard field goal for Philadelphia to end the first half.

Three Vikings possessions in the scoreless second half ended with Cousins plucked deep into Eagles territory.
Slay intercepted a pass near the goal line in the third quarter and one at the back of the end zone in the fourth quarter. Avonte Maddox took the other interception within the 15-yard line in the third quarter after Minnesota Patrick Peterson blocked a field goal from Elliott.
Minnesota will try to break through on Sunday when NFC North rivals, Detroit, travel to US Bank Stadium.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia will try to expand its impeccable record in the capital against the commanders.
