Eagles star AJ Brown leaves NFL fans baffled with bizarre sideline move during playoff game
AJ Brown was spotted reading a book on the sidelines between the action during Sunday’s Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers, leaving fans stunned.
Brown didn’t have a great game by any means, with just one catch for 10 yards.
Still, it wasn’t a result of his frustration that he started reading while the Eagles defense was on the field.
Brown said he takes Jim Murphy’s book “Inner Excellence” with him to every game. After the win, the wide receiver showed off his copy of the novel, with passages highlighted and underlined.
The book had also suffered a lot of wear and tear, seemingly proving Brown’s story to be true.
“It gives me a sense of peace,” Brown said of reading the book during games. “That’s a book I take with me to every game.”

The book was ‘Inner Excellence’ by Jim Murphy, of which Eagles fans bought copies themselves
Brown didn’t have a particularly good game against the Packers, recording just one catch
Brown may have read more pages of the book than he received yards on Sunday. He will get his personal production with a postseason win in every game.
One such passage that Brown highlighted in Murphy’s book is about where one’s focus should be.
‘We are so hard on ourselves and magnify all our failures and regrets that we forget to see what is still possible: a life of freedom, a field of deep satisfaction, joy and confidence, regardless of the circumstances. We are all human, with the same deep desires and concerns.’
The Eagles do not yet know their opponent for the Divisional Round. It will be a home game due to their win over the Packers.
Whatever happens, ‘Inner Excellence’ will return to the sidelines of Lincoln Financial Field.
Many Eagles fans on social media said after the game that they had purchased the book themselves.
