Manchester United fans were keenly aware of Anthony Martial being injured in their defeat to Sevilla – and laid the blame on one of his teammates.
The 27-year-old fell injured in a corner kick as Sevilla scored their second goal of the night through Loic Bade just after the break.
After a short push, Martial had to come off the field in the 54th minute and be replaced by Wout Weghorst.
The injury exacerbates United’s problems – as Thursday’s Europa League exit in Spain is quickly followed by an FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, and it is doubtful whether the Frenchman will return to Brighton at Wembley.
Following his setback, eagle-eyed United fans watched Martial suffer the injury after captain Harry Maguire pushed Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer into him as he attempted to clear the ball from a corner kick.

One supporter tweeted, “Maguire injured Martial, you couldn’t write it,” and another added, “My chest!!!! Maguire why!!!!! We’re sorry’.
Others doubled down on the criticism of the 30-year-old central defender, claiming ‘Maguire is a liability!!’, and ‘Honestly I’ve never disliked a player so much’.
Another highlighted another incident where Maguire previously caused an injury to another colleague, noting: “He did the same thing to Pogba,” alongside footage of now Juventus player Paul Pogba being accidentally kicked in the head.

And others felt that Maguire was unfairly hounded for the incident, believing Sabitzer to be guilty of Martial’s injury.
