EA is giving away The Sims 4 backyard pack for free

Starting Thursday, The Sims4 Publisher Electronic Arts is giving away the Backyard Stuff Pack for free on all platforms (EA app, Play station, SteamAnd Xbox) until April 13.

Backyard Stuff was originally released in 2016 on Mac and Windows PC, and was added to consoles in 2018. As you might have guessed, it’s centered around the backyard: in addition to a shark slip-and-slide, it has potted plants, a bird feeder, and other patio add-ons. Of course, casual fashion and hairstyles have also been added, things you would wear in the backyard. Overall, it’s a cute package and perfect timing as we leave winter and enter spring.

Like all Stuff Packs, it originally cost $10. The Sims4 has several types of downloadable content, the largest of which is an expansion pack. Then there’s the Game Pack, which generally adds gameplay elements, but not enough to make it an expansion. The Stuff Pack follows suit, adding a number of new items and clothing. In total, The Sims4 has at least 15 expansions, 12 game packs and 20 accessory packs. That’s $200 alone if you want all the stuff packs, meaning it’s quite expensive to get all the content available. The occasional freebie won’t lower that price much, but it’s something!

The Sims4‘s latest Stuff Pack — albeit not free — is the Crystal Creations Accessories Pack, which allows your Sims to create jewelry from crystals and gemstones. You can also get other The Sims4 content for sale on the official website on Steam during the platform’s spring sale.
