On Thursday, Murgatroyd revealed her youngest’s name to the world via Instagram.
“Rio John Chmerkovskiy,” the caption began, along with two blue heart emojis. Born ~ 6.18.2023. 8.6 oz and blooming!
“We are thrilled to share our baby boy with all of you. @shai.aleksander is already the best big brother and we all feel very complete. Life is good XO.’
The two lovebirds, who tied the knot in 2017, already share a six-year-old son, Shai.
It came just days after the couple announced Rio’s arrival on Father’s Day.
The Dancing With The Stars pro, who announced she was expecting baby number two earlier this year in January, was seen lying in a hospital bed in a clip uploaded by her husband shortly before they welcomed their little one into the world.
Before fathering their second baby, the professional dancer suffered a total of three miscarriages in 2020 and 2021 before revealing her second pregnancy earlier this year.
The choreographer uploaded an adorable photo as he lovingly held his newborn son in his arms. “Happy Father’s Day to me!” he wrote the caption, followed by the hashtag “#MadeInPeta.”
Baby number two: While enjoying quality time with her second child, who she shares with husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the 36-year-old New Zealand artist teased that she ‘can’t wait’ to share her ‘birth story’ with her more than 988,000 followers
Maksim shared a video on his Instagram stories before the couple became parents of two that began with the dancer greeting his fans and followers as he sat on a chair in a spacious hospital room.
He turned the phone’s camera to his wife, Peta, who was in bed. ‘How do you feel?’ he asked, prompting her to throw her arms in the air and humorously flash peace signs at her husband.
“We’re having a baby,” she said, moving her arms back and forth in a light, dancing motion. Peta then added that it had been a “tough night.”
The now mother-of-two social media user spoke up in the clip, revealing, “Guys, you were all right. Started as little baby things, then boom. I couldn’t talk, barely walk. And we went through all the red lights to get here on time.’
The reel ended with Maksim saying, “We’re here,” adding excitedly, “Let’s get that baby!”
Shortly before the video was uploaded, he also shared a sweet photo while holding his wife in the hospital. “It’s time to go!” he wrote in the caption.
The star then revealed that he was rushing to Los Angeles to take his wife to the hospital. “Come to LA from Napa in record time! Thanks to (turns three times) grandpa Sasha ;).’
‘@petamurgatroyd is the fabulous unicorn she is and I can’t wait for another one of her best creations! She is an absolutely wonderful boy mom and is about to give birth to another happy man.”

Rumer Willis, who recently welcomed her first child in April, wrote, “Congratulations Dad, so happy for you.”
Model Joanna Krupa wrote, “Wow great timing! So happy for you!’ while TV personality Amanda Kloots added, ‘Wow what a day! What a gift!’
Earlier this month in June, Peta got candid about three miscarriages before falling pregnant with their second child. She shared a video that documented the heartbreaking moments, which then led to her successfully carrying their second baby.
“It’s been a long ride for our family. Every day of those two and a half years I prayed for a miracle. I was really hesitant to share these images (some I left out) but I realized this is my journey… not a pretty journey, but… MY journey,” she wrote.
“I am a different woman because of these events, I think a better woman. Today I am happy and content, I am grateful and I don’t take things for granted. I never thought this day would come after 39 weeks,” the DWTS star admitted.
“Being pregnant with my second child was a crush, I thought I needed it for my soul, to be full and whole. What I had to realize and accept was the fact that I am whole, I have a beautiful, healthy family that loves me and that I couldn’t see.”
The star added, “It killed my soul, but as soon as I let go of my fear of having just one child, I was pregnant a month later. I still look down and think HOW?!!! How did I get pregnant naturally one month after IVF? I am forever wrapped in gratitude with one week to go.”
