Former Dancing With The Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy has unleashed a wave of criticism on Anna Delvey, who is currently competing on the series.
While I’m on The TMZ Podcastthe 44-year-old artist called 33-year-old Delvey a “s****y dancer.”
“There are so many other people to choose from,” he said of the producers’ decision to cast the former inmate, celebrity woman.
“I don’t believe that ‘she was nervous’ stuff. She was a great dancer,” he explained on the latest episode of the entertainment podcast.
He also said that her “aloof” personality “won’t really help her in this competition.”

When asked how many weeks he thinks she’ll last on the long-running competition show, Maksim said, “I don’t care. She’s not someone I look at.”
He added: “I’m not saying anything that nobody else is saying.”
This comes after Anna, along with Ezra Sosa, received a lot of criticism for her role in the final season of the series, due to her criminal past.
She is known for her fraudulent practices, in which she pretended to be a German heiress.
The con artist, played by actress Julia Garner in the Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna, was jailed for her crimes in 2019.
“She’s a fucking criminal,” one outraged viewer wrote on X, following her DWTS debut last week.
In 2022, Anna was placed under house arrest while she awaited notification that she would be allowed to remain in the United States after serving her full sentence.
She was recently allowed to return to work and travel within a 70-mile radius of her home on the East Coast.
In addition, Anna received a citizen service number and was allowed to use social media again.
The contestant, who was recently released from prison for her elaborate scam, wore her court-ordered ankle monitor as she took to the field with her partner Ezra Sosa on Monday.
Viewers have slammed Dancing With The Stars for bringing ‘criminal’ Anna into the final season. The con artist made her debut wearing a glitter-adorned ankle bracelet.
Social media was full of angry messages about her participation in the show, with many people criticizing the channel for allowing the criminal to participate on the ‘famous dance floor’.
This isn’t the first time she’s competed on Dancing With The Stars and served a prison sentence.
Rapper Lil Kim, comedian Tommy Chong and entertainer Steve O previously joined the series after serving their sentences.
However, Delvey is the only star known solely for her beliefs.
