Dancing With The Stars’ Emma Slater officially files for divorce from Sasha Farber after four years of marriage, but there’s no ‘bad blood’
Dancing With The Stars’ Emma Slater officially filed for divorce from husband Sasha Farber on Tuesday, according to PEOPLE.
The professional dancers, ages 34 and 38 respectively, tied the knot in 2018, two years after getting engaged during a live DWTS taping.
In court documents, Slater cited “irreconcilable differences” and the legal date of separation is April 1, 2022.
A source told the outlet that there is “no bad blood” between the two and that they “still remain close.”
Although their split wasn’t revealed until August, fan speculation began in early 2022 when they noticed the couple were no longer wearing their wedding rings in photos.

Both Slater and Farber joined Dancing With The Stars as company dancers in 2012.
They were later promoted to professional dancers in 2013 for the show’s 17th season.
The couple began dating in 2011, but Slater confirmed their breakup in 2014. Glamor interview.
I don’t think we should end up together. I think there are other people who could make both of us individually happy, but I will always be her best friend,” she told the outlet.
“I feel like his best friend right now. It just happened in the way that we went from a beautiful relationship of three years, which I love and appreciate, to best friends.
He also noted that despite the separation, they still lived together.
The couple finally got back together in 2015 and Farber on October 4, 2016 during a live recording of Dancing With The Stars.
They had just danced to Bruno Mars’ hit song Just the Way You Are before he popped the question.
“Honey, I’ve wanted to do this for a long, long time,” Farber began. Then he knelt down and asked: ‘I love you very much. Will you marry me?’
The couple got married on March 25, 2018 at Bella Blanca in Los Angeles. The ceremony was attended by several of his DWTS co-stars.
Dancers Lindsay Arnold, Witney Carson, Jenna Johnson and Derek Hough were part of the wedding party.
‘We’re on top of the world right now. It was the most amazing day. It was absolutely amazing. Nothing went wrong. It was brilliant,’ Slater gushed to us weekly after tying the knot.
‘It was incredible. She kept thinking: ‘This is not normal. This is not normal. This shouldn’t be happening.’ Everything went very well and it was a party from the moment we went up to the reception until very late.

Farber said it was “unbelievable” to see Slater walk down the aisle in her Rivini dress, adding that she found it “the most beautiful thing in the world.”
Farber previously said he knew Slater was the one for him only “three or four months” after their first meeting.
The couple own a house together, which they bought shortly after their wedding.
Slater and Farber are currently performing on the Dancing with the Stars Tour 2023, which will end in Las Vegas on March 12.
