Dwyane 'The Rock' Johnson's shocking return to the WWE has led to a massive ratings increase on Monday Night RAW.

The 51-year-old last appeared in the WWE in September when he told Pat McAfee that there were talks to face Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

However, those plans fell through and many began to speculate that he could make his long-awaited return next year.

Now it looks like those conversations could soon bear fruit, after he made a stunning appearance on Monday Night RAW.

And as an added bonus, ratings saw a nine percent increase from last year when The Rock returned.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson made a shocking return to the WWE, calling for a possible superfight with Roman Reigns

The 51-year-old last appeared in the WWE in September, when he told Pat McAfee that there were talks to face Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

Within this nine percent increase, there was a 48 percent increase between people aged 18 to 49 and a 58 percent increase between people aged 18 to 34, again showing how RAW is performing for its younger viewers.

Johnson's unannounced return, plus a hyped match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, helped officials log 1.75 million viewers on Monday, according to Wrestling observer.

It also received a 0.60 rating for the 18 to 49 age group, which are the best numbers since CM Punk also made his shocking return.

This Monday's Raw was also up 12 percent from the show two weeks ago, even though that was just a “best of” compilation.

The Johnson segment alone drew 2.15 million viewers and the show dropped dramatically from there, but rebounded for the main event of Rollins vs. McIntyre.

The number would have been higher if Johnson had been advertised, as the only pre-show tease was that a former WWE Champion is returning.
