Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson pokes fun at Kevin Hart’s height as 6ft 5 star discusses having to ‘look up to people’ for the first time

Dwayne Johnson made fun of boyfriend Kevin Hart’s height during the Graham Norton show on Friday.

The pair have appeared together in several films, including Jumanji, Central Intelligence, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

So it came as no surprise that Dwayne felt comfortable enough to gently tease his frequent collaborator Kevin.

Speaking about his unusually small size compared to the gigantic characters in his upcoming film Red One, Graham asked if he thought it was strange not to be the tallest person for once.

He jokingly said: ‘I really noticed what it was like to have to look up to others for a change. I noticed this is Kevin Hart’s life!’

Dwayne was joined on The Graham Norton Show by Lucy Liu, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lopez, Jharrel Jerome and Celeste.

It comes as height appears to be a hot topic after Gary Barlow and his son Daniel went viral after the Take That singer shared a family photo of his son towering over him.

Gary barely reaches his son’s shoulder in the wholesome photo, which Gary originally posted to celebrate Father’s Day in June 2023.

Memes have flooded the internet with jokes about Daniel’s height, but in reality the 24-year-old is just a few inches taller than the average British man.

The average height for a man in Britain is 1.80 metres, and for a woman 1.80 metres.

Daniel, who is pursuing a career in medicine, stands at an impressive height of 6ft 1in, but looks taller next to his ‘little king’ dad. But in reality, at 6 feet tall, Gary is only a few inches shorter than average.

Elsewhere, a photo of Bear Grylls and his rarely seen son Marmaduke has emerged, with the 18-year-old dwarfing the adventurer, 50.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is currently promoting his new film Red One, in which he stars as the North Pole security chief who faces a crisis when Santa Claus is kidnapped.

Dwayne’s character Callum Drift joins forces with bounty hunter Jake O’Malley, played by Chris Evans, to retrieve the kidnapped victim.

Red One features a star-studded cast, including Mad Men alumna Kiernan Shipka, Big Mouth co-creator Nick Kroll and Cheaper By The Dozen actress Bonnie Hunt.

The film was directed by Jake Kasdan, who previously directed Dwayne in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle and its sequel Jumanji: The Next Level.

Jake is the son of Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote Raiders Of The Lost Ark and co-wrote several Star Wars films, including The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.

Red One was meant to be released five days before Christmas last year, and at the time it was only meant to be released on Prime Video.

However, the strikes in Hollywood forced the film to be postponed until this month, and it will now be released in theaters.

During a recent press conference, Lucy revealed that she was initially told she wouldn’t be doing much fencing in Red One, but then discovered the opposite.

‘I had spoken to Jake and asked if there was anything I needed to prepare. He said, no, maybe she’s going to kick and maybe punch. That’s it. You’re just the boss and that’s it,” Lucy said, according to Movies.ie.

“I get on set, we’re doing the costume fittings, and then the stunt coordinator comes in and he says, I just want to give you a little taste of what we’re going to do. He shows me this whole action scene. I kicked in; it was like I was alive again. I hadn’t done it in a long time, but it just came back to me.’

The Charlie’s Angels star added: ‘I like watching action movies. I grew up watching them, and being on screen, taking action is so exciting, and I think it gets kids excited, girls excited, and women excited.”

Red One premiered in the UK on November 6 and will be released in US cinemas next week, on November 15.
