Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson made a shocked return to the WWE, calling for a possible superfight with Roman Reigns.

The 51-year-old last appeared in the WWE in September, when he told Pat McAfee that there were talks to face Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

However, those plans fell through and led many to speculate that he could make his long-awaited return next year.

Now it looks like those conversations could soon bear fruit after he had a stunning performance on Monday Night RAW.

During his cameo, 'The Rock' discussed why he was really back as we head into the pinnacle of the WWE calendar.

“I'm going to get something to eat,” he explained.

'Should The Rock be in a box? Or should The Rock sit at the bar? Or should The Rock… sit at the head of the table?'

The last sentence was a clear shout-out to Reigns, nicknamed 'Head of the Table', the current undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Reigns has had a staggering run as champion after more than 1,200 days in control of the Universal Championship.

It is expected that the two wrestling giants could face off at WrestleMania 40, which will take place between April 6 and 7.

Last month, Mail Sport exclusively revealed that Jey Uso claimed a match between the Rock and Reigns would be the 'biggest' match in wrestling.

Asked by Alex McCarthy of Mail Sport about this prospect, Uso said: “If I had to pick one, I would pick the Chieftain. The Rock has been out of the game for a while, the Tribal Chief knows what it is.

“I have a feeling that no one will dethrone the chief if it is not one of us in the family. I don't think there's anyone out there. Punk, Randy, it's none of them.'

When asked if he would face the Rock, he added, “I think that's what the people want, I mean, yes, I would like to interact with the Rock.

“It could work and I think it would be very entertaining. Those are the two biggest stars in our family, but we still win no matter what.”

The Main Event star also agreed that a match between the two of them “would be the biggest match in wrestling” and he would “love to see it.”
