Dwayne Johnson shows off his buff physique in a tiny pair of shorts on set of his film The Smashing Machine after rupturing the bursa sac in his elbow

Dwayne Johnson was back at work on the set of his latest project in Vancouver, Canada.

The Moana 2 actor, 52, showed off his toned body on Saturday, costumed in a black T-shirt and shorts.

The usually bald actor donned a dark wig for his portrayal of former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Kerr, 55, who he stars in the biopic The Smashing Machine.

The Rock had a black brace on his left knee, but it appeared to be part of his costume.

Earlier this week, the actor shared with his fans on social media that he had injured his elbow.

ā€œEvery time your movie is called The Smashing Machine, you get crushed,ā€ the professional wrestler said, showing an area near the joint the size of a small cantaloupe, which he likened to a ā€œcantaloupe.ā€

Although at the time of the shooting he asked his fans for advice on treating the injury, he administered some of his own Teremana tequila for pain relief.

After being examined by a doctor, the actor reported that there was “no extensive tissue damage” and that there was a “ruptured bursal sac that will eventually heal.”

Johnson stars in The Smashing Machine alongside Emily Blunt and Oleksandr Usyk.

Blunt, 41, stars as former Playboy model and Kerr’s ex-wife Dawn Staples in the drama co-written by Kerr, 55, and director Benny Safdie.

Boxing champion Usyk, 37, will play the role of MMA legend Igor Vovchanchyn, who had several fights with Kerr in the no-holds-barred era of the UFC.

Kerr also acts as a consultant to the production.

Johnson and Safdie are also producing the project, which they have been working on since The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions acquired the rights in 2019.
