‘You should never lay your hands on a woman’: MMA star Dustin Poirier condemns his boss Dana White after footage surfaced of the UFC president slapping his wife during New Year’s Eve party
Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier has responded to images of Dana White slapping his wife on New Year’s Eve.
In a fight caught on camera between the UFC president and his wife Anne of 26 years, Dana can be seen saying something to the mother of his three children, who responds by slapping him, prompting White to slap her back before for the couple to separate.
In an interview with bloody elbowPoirier was asked how he thought the UFC boss could bounce back from the damning images.

‘I’m not sure. I have no idea.’ Poirier said.
‘You should never put your hands on a woman. I don’t know the repercussions of someone of her stature, running these businesses and doing something like that. I have no idea. It sure isn’t a good look.
The resulting outrage surrounding the footage prompted US broadcaster TBS to delay the launch of the UFC President’s Power Slap League, which was set to debut on January 11.
White apologized for the incident, saying there was “no excuse” for his actions.
Asked if he considered White’s new business venture to be a sport, Poirier simply replied ‘no’ before adding: ‘It’s more of a tough guy competition, you know. And I’m just not educated in the techniques of slapping someone, so.
After the images of the New Year’s Eve altercation were published Blanca told TMZ that he was not “an excuse” for his actions.
‘My wife and I went out on Saturday night on New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately that is what happened.
White has been married to his partner Anne for 26 years and the couple have three children.
“I’m one of the guys who says there is never, ever an excuse for a man to put his hands on a woman and now here I am on TMZ talking about it.
‘This is one of those situations that is horrible. I’m ashamed. We have three children and since the video came out, we have shown the children and we are more focused on our family at the moment.
‘People are going to have their opinions on this and people’s opinions would be correct, especially in my case. You never put your hands on a woman.
