A popular range of Christmas-themed candles has been recalled amid fears the product could pose a potentially fatal hazard to children.
The scented candles with a Christmas market motif were sold nationally in stores and online by well-known retailer Dusk between October 24 and December 12.
The candles had a glowing LED light powered by a coin cell battery, but there was no warning label on the package.
The missing label led to the product being recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on Monday.
“There is a risk of suffocation, severe internal burns, or death to young children if they access and swallow or place the button/button batteries in their bodies,” the recall notice reads.
