During HIMSS24 APAC, the adoption model for Analytics Maturity will receive a facelift

HIMSS today announced an update to its Analytics Maturity Adoption Model at the HIMSS24 Asia-Pacific conference in Seoul.

The earlier version of AMAM is now called AMAM Classic and the modernized version is called AMAM24.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT

The new AMAM maturity framework focuses on five key requirements for healthcare organizations:

  • management;

  • life cycle of analytics;

  • data and infrastructure;

  • personalized analytics; And

  • impact and results of analyses.

HIMSS has redesigned the AMAM to enable the successful adoption of advanced analytics, and AI in particular, to help healthcare organizations achieve priority outcomes. It starts with the fundamental requirements of data, digital infrastructure and governance.

Like the other HIMSS maturity models, AMAM24 is structured around a ladder of eight maturity stages – from zero to seven – to help healthcare organizations optimize their healthcare analytics capabilities, providing an evidence-based framework for improving data management, predictive analytics and AI usage .

THE BIG TREND

Worldwide, 26 organizations have reached phase 6 and 13 organizations have reached phase 7 for the AMAM. In APAC there are three organizations (Seoul National University Hospital, China Medical University Hospital and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital) have reached AMAM Stage 6. The Samsung Medical Center in South Korea is the only organization in APAC to have reached Stage 7.

ON THE RECORD

“AMAM24 does not prescribe which policy framework should be used in an organization; however, it does require evidence of an analytics strategy and governance policies that support and enable the safety and quality of care,” said Widi Salim, Senior Digital Health Advisor at HIMSS.

“AMAM24 expands its previous focus on data and IT to include prescriptive analytics and data-driven decision making.”
