Emergency crews race to scene after reports of aircraft ‘incident’ near populated beach area
A plane has crashed near Dundowran Beach, leaving the pilot with a head injury.
Paramedics are treating the man in his 30s with a laceration above his eye after he crashed his Cessna plane into Hervey Bay on Queensland’s Fraser Coast at 2pm.

It is understood that a small Cessna plane crashed into a meadow near the popular beach (pictured)
First responders were called first Hervey Bay Airport after the pilot attempted to make a distress call to air traffic control.
Air traffic control never heard from the man and shortly afterwards reports came in that he had crashed in a field near the intersections of Pialba-Burrum Heads and Anson Roads.
The man is in a stable condition and was seen with a large bandage over his left eye while speaking to emergency services.
He has since been taken to Hervey Bay Hospital.
