This is the moment a ‘drunk’ Celtic fan punched police officers during a shocking brawl on an easyJet flight ‘after drinking a bottle of vodka’.

Footage has emerged of a man wearing a Celtic football shirt hitting other passengers as scrap broke out in the aisle of the plane flying from Edinburgh to Antalya, Turkey, on Saturday.

The fight is said to have started towards the end of the flight after another Celtic supporter called the man a ‘disgrace’.

One passenger on the plane said the ‘drunk’ attacker had tried to retrieve his bag from the overhead bin during the flight and that a bottle of Gold Ivy vodka had been confiscated by staff.

The clip shows the man standing up from his chair and throwing punches at someone in front of him.

Passengers looked on in shock as the holidaymaker tried to walk down the aisle

Shocked holidaymakers, including a young girl, watch as the Celtic fan moves towards the aisle where a group of passengers and airline staff try to restrain him.

A number of people can be heard shouting as the man tries to push past the crowd.

The football fan pauses the attack for a moment, but then starts throwing more punches, especially against someone who appears to be a police officer.

One passenger appears to shout: ‘f****** him’ as the officer tries to push the man to the ground as people stand filming the scene on their phones.

When he finally does, some holidaymakers can be heard reassuring shocked children with the words, “it’s okay, it’s okay.”

At this point most of the passengers stand up and lean over their seats to see what happened to the man.

Another video shows the Celtic fan being dragged away as he shouts at other holidaymakers and people cheer loudly from their seats.

One passenger on the plane told MailOnline that the man had previously tried to throw punches at the other Celtic supporter when he called him a ‘disgrace’.

He said: ‘Before he hit the officer he had drank and drank a bottle of vodka, which he sneaked onto the plane, while trying to talk to girls at the back of the plane near the toilets, while he was just very drunk.

“When the flight attendants tried to take his Gold Ivy vodka bottle from him. He said, “I don’t want to give it to you because I need it for protection.”

‘At the end of the flight he was shouting continuously and pulling his bag out of the air while the staff told him to sit down.

‘Then another Celtic fan said he was a disgrace.

‘He tried to fight the other man but his wife/girlfriend/partner tried to stop him.

“Then the police came on board and he tried to throw punches at them.”

The passenger said someone shouting ‘come on Celtic’ had ‘kicked everything off again’.

The Glasgow side defeated Aberdeen on penalties to reach the Scottish Cup final while the flight was in the air.

‘Before we landed someone at the top of the flight had cheered because they had found out the result and shouted ‘come on Celtic’.

“That got everything going again, but I don’t think that triggered him because he was being difficult before that.”

The holidaymaker added that his 12-year-old son was ‘stressed out’ during the fight.

He said: ‘A lot of people had children and there were also empty seats at the back of the plane when they moved them.

“When he was taken out, they cheered. Everyone was stressed and the kids were crying non-stop.

‘My 12-year-old son was stressed, but he was doing well.

‘It wasn’t ideal.

‘[The Celtic fan] waited on the tarmac for between ten and twenty minutes until the police arrived.

I think he was taken to the airport by security and police.”

An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘easyJet can confirm that police attended a flight to Antalya on April 20 due to a passenger behaving disruptively on board.
