Astonishing video exposes Melbourne truckie’s drug-fuelled delivery shocker: ‘Out of it’

A Melbourne truck driver who was so high on a cocktail of drugs he could barely stand as he delivered concrete slabs to a construction site has avoided jail.

Hasan Osman, 40, was filmed ‘out of it’ at the Fitzroy North construction site in July 2023, with footage showing him flailing as he stood in one spot with his head slumped before almost falling over when he tried to move.

The construction site where Osman delivered the 10-ton load was just meters from a primary school and an elderly care facility.

Osman also stopped his tractor and drove onto a curb, nearly hitting a crane spotter, before parking in a service lane.

“He’s lucky he didn’t kill anyone,” fellow truck driver Rebecca Church said Nine news.

“It’s already a dangerous job… If we don’t do it right or if the (concrete) panels are not properly tied down, they could fall.”

Osman, from Dallas in Melbourne’s north, was this week found guilty of one charge of drug driving.

The Melbourne District Court heard he had GHB, synthetic cannabis and methylamphetamine in his system.

He also has a number of other driving offenses dating back to 2004, including driving while disqualified, speeding, careless driving and drug driving.

Despite the magistrate calling Osman’s behavior a “recipe for disaster,” he avoided jail and was fined $1,500 and disqualified from driving for four years.
