Reception problems due to the remote location in the national park have made identifying the man and the circumstances surrounding his death difficult.

“Police have established a crime scene and are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death,” a NSW Police statement said.

Authorities will prepare a report for the coroner.
