Dropout’s Very Important People season 2 trailer promises even more hilarious interviews with bizarre characters
One of the funniest additions to comedy streaming service Dropout’s newly expanded portfolio has been Very important people. The show, hosted by Vic Michaelis, is a fake news program in which Michaelis interviews guests – all talented improvisers who have been given extreme makeovers and asked to create a character on the spot. The first season featured guests appearing as a pair of ghost dolls, a mad scientist, an alien, and Michaelis’ ex-step-grandmother. Season two drops next month, starting November 7, and we got our first look at the guests and what they’re up to in a trailer released on Thursday.
Michaelis’ dedication to the dry delivery of a public television interviewer makes the show special (as do the rare moments when the guests make Michaelis break), and the incredible makeup team never fails to impress with costumes, prosthetics, and looks for the guest. . The show also thrives on the talents of its guests, and the lineup for the second season is very enticing.
There will be recognizable names for Dropout fans: regulars Brennan Lee Mulligan, Zac Oyama, Izzy Roland, Alex Song-Xia, Anna Garcia, Jacob Wysocki, Paul Robalino, Paul F. Tompkins and Kimia Behpoornia will all perform. Other guests this season include John Early (Find a party), Kate Berlant (Don’t worry, honey), Danielle Pinnock (Ghosts), Chris Redd (Saturday evening live), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday evening live), Nicole Byer (It worked!), Corin Wells (A Black Lady sketch show), and Echo Kellum (Arrow). It’s a star-studded list of funny people for a show that never fails to deliver laughs.
Season 2 of Very important people premieres on Dropout November 7. It will be a 16-episode season, with new episodes premiering every other Thursday at 7 PM ET.
