Dropout is offering discounted Dimension 20 tickets after controversy over prices

Earlier this year, the independent streamer announced it would do what had never been done before: play Dungeons and dragons on the most famous stage in the world. That plan sparked controversy, as the overwhelming flow of fans rushing to the site triggered Ticketmaster’s Dynamic Pricing model. Tickets priced between $80 and $200 plus rose to as high as $2,500, sparking outrage from the fan base.

In response, Dropout released a statement saying the average ticket sold for $119 – with the “dynamic pricing nonsense” affecting only a fraction of sales. The same statement established the Dimensioneer lottery system, which would give fans who may have been priced out of the event the chance to see the show at an affordable price. Dropout also initially stated that it would refrain from using the dynamic pricing model for the upcoming West Coast Tour, although it later clarified that 150 tickets for the Hollywood Bowl show would have dynamic pricing. reports on Twitter that “100% of the increase (less costs)” would be donated to the LA County Parks Foundation.

Raffle entries for a limited number of $35 tickets are open until November 17 at 5:00 PM ET. The lucky winners will be notified by email on the evening of November 22nd Size 20‘s social media post, Dimensioneer’s seat locations will be randomly assigned throughout the venue, including “Upper Level” and “Floor” seating. Winners won’t know what their view of the stage will be; the company says Dimensioneer’s ticket locations won’t be announced until the night of the show.
