Drivers rant after footage shows ‘main characters’ cutting in line: ‘I make it my life goal to not let them in!’

A Toronto driver has sparked heated debate after he filmed a car illegally cutting into him – a move that is surely one of the most despised among all drivers.
The video shows the Honda speeding in the outside lane then sliding past a long line of vehicles crawling toward the exit near Spadina Avenue – despite the presence of double lines.
Captioning the video – posted on September 18 – the person wrote simply: “MCs would never wait in a line of cars patiently waiting to exit a highway.”
MCs are “main characters” – a trope used to describe someone who thinks the story revolves around them.
Users online were quick to express their frustration at the brazen move, with one saying they were making it their “life goal not to let them in”.
None of the drivers who had been cut off spoke or honked their horns, and the cars in front of the Honda seemed oblivious to what had happened.
Reddit users blasted the driver who made the illegal move
The exit is close to Spadina Avenue (north), which is a popular route people take to get to downtown Toronto.
Spadina Avenue is a popular street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and runs south from Bloor Street to the Gardiner Expressway.
It’s a popular outing because it’s close to the Rogers Centre, the stadium that is home to the MLB’s Toronto Blue Jays.
The Reddit video poster said: “I watched about a dozen main characters all cutting full double lines to get ahead of everyone else waiting to exit.
“Obviously they are way more important than everyone else and we should always let them in,” they continued.
Other users went further, calling the other driver a “moron” and suggesting that spikes on the road would soon stop the offenders.
One said: “This release is known for the behavior of the main characters in Toronto. Why wait? There is no enforcement for these morons.
Another user replied: “Yes, this outlet is one of the worst in town for this type of shit. These double lines should be spiked strips.
People on social media have done everything from blaming the highway to Toronto drivers. Others have compared it to other highways in New York and Texas.
The highway exit is notorious for bad drivers, mainly when it is very busy during rush hours or on weekends.
One person said: “People need to learn how driving works. If you’re at this point, you’re screwing yourself and you’ve waited too long.
“You don’t force everyone else on the highway to stop so they can pass. Get off at the next exit and turn around,” they continued.
Users also blamed the exit itself, and some compared it to the freeways in Dallas and New York.
